Efflam, did any of your stuff get absorbed into GR? I am still wishing there was someway I could get all your old pedal emulations.

Or you can try a hands on, Sylvia Massey type of approach.

I can’t say what her techniques actually would be, but I can imagine her finding a small speaker and driving a hot signal through it, or possibly playing it back clean but clipping a microphone as she re-records it.

It took a little while until after it was released, but you can now find a number of tutorials on YouTube now utilizing Destructor for different applications other than just guitar distortion/“amp sim” usage for which it was originally marketed. To be fair, it’s only been around since late last year, so it’s going vs. many other plugins mentioned ITT.

+1 for Destructor.

Their new plug (Axiom) is more guitar sim focused (and you can load instances of Destructor within Axiom), but I still turn to Destructor for all sorts of distortion. The presets have a really wide range of settings, but the real strength is turning off "easy mode" (their words not mine) which allows you to actually tweak the modeling parameters instead of just turning gain and drive dials. The demo is fully functional (has a 1 second audio drop / minute) and i was sold after i tried it out.

Awesome suggestions here, thanks.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

So nobody has tried the Softube OTO Biscuit yet? Me either. I guess I'm gonna have to download the demo before the sale runs out. The Permut8 with Bender has my attention too. I already have Dent 2, Kombinat Tri, Trash 2. I've picked all of them up dirt cheap at one time or another. I can get the Biscuit for $168 but, it would still be the single-most expensive effects plug I've bought by far.

I've got the Softube demo it's really great but I'm trying not to buy any more plugins.

Can't believe I haven't seen mention of IVGI from Klanghelm. I have alot of expensive, fancy distortion/saturation products but this little free one, more often than not, gives me what I'm looking for when the others aren't.
