Anything you say that strays from the EULA will result in fire, pitchforks, and account banning. Do so at your own risk.

That is a huge drawback with Blue Cat, unfortunately. I just made sure before I purchased that I was fine with the idea of keeping them forever.Dynamike wrote:I'm curious about something ..
Blue Cat doesn't support license transfer. Which is a shame IMO. I contacted them myself recently because I'm gonna make a change in music/mixing production so I don't need this tool anymore. Now I'm stuck with it.
Normally, selling a license that's not supported by the developer, is a no go. However, I recently sold an other tool that has the following policy: no extra costs are involved (re personalize is possible for an additional fee but not mandatory).
Using a personalized license seems only necessary if you need it for downloads/updates. So in that case 'selling' a Blue Cat license wouldn't help the buyer because he or she can only download demo versions.
But, I have the order confirmation and downloadlink (obviously) in my mail. So maybe it's still possible to work something out. Although it's not completely the usual way. Such as from a principled point of view.
Any thoughts about this subject perhaps?
Perhaps if they get enough feedback they might change their mind one day? They mentioned that they did support license transfers in the past. Maybe they'll do it again?

Before buying, I specifically asked them about it and at that time, they had no problem with it and assured me I could buy with that confidence in mind. Of course, that was later reneged under "subject to change without notice" but to their credit, they gave public notice but not customer email notice.
Even though I don't currently use that bundle, I can live with it since I got it at a very nice price and the money went to charity anyway. One of the few "NFR" I have that I'm okay with really. Not part of that bundle, but I use Patchwork regularly. It does perhaps, keep me from buying anything else from them though.

Haha, I prefer the guillotine, fast with less drama. (no serious, I'm just wondering for now)masterhiggins wrote:Anything you say that strays from the EULA will result in fire, pitchforks, and account banning. Do so at your own risk.
Well, I own Patchwork but because it's an utility tool (so to speak) and my DAW has improved a lot in the meantime I (also) don't need it anymore. And I'm not the only one I guess. So in this case they should reconsider their policy IMO indeed. I don't think it's very customer friendly at this moment.Tappistry wrote:That is a huge drawback with Blue Cat, unfortunately. Any one has PA voucher of $50? Need it to cover some of the cost of new SSL models. I can trade G8 for the voucher.

Transfer policy is just part of the offering imo - I bought axiom a week or so ago in full knowledge that it's a keeper. I'm okay with that.
I guess companies have to weigh up the sales they'll lose from people not buying because of the no-transfer policy vs sales gained from people not being able to buy used.

That's great to know. Thanks!dzilizzi wrote:From what I understand, Soundiron will give a discount on the upgrade of the micro cost. Not sure if it's the cheapest, but it's got to be close.

Anyone know when/how often Image Line products go on sale, or if 3rd parties do so? I'm specifically interested in Sytrus and Harmor. Thanks!

Tried today, frankly to say not quite impressed, did test on various material. No, it's good delay, and very little cpu usage, but i mean ofcourse via compare with exist popular delays, it's features. So, the only thing perhaps that seemed fun\original it's builtin "transient shaping" section, it's all. The rest good too, but all that already was.Feelshallright wrote:The monthly voucher is working on top of that. As well, can't found user manual after install, though manual was chosen during instal. Just was need check what exactly doing "Offset" knob (handle between Time and Feedback), because there is feeling that it's not works properly, or works something via other way than in some other delays.

Out of this collection I only have Dream Circle. In general, this is one of my favorite developers. But these bundles do not include their best libraries. At the price they are most certainly worth it but you should check the demo videos if they add anything you do not already have. There are just so many percussive and ethnically plucky libraries out there. If you are active in this forum you have probably already picked up something very similar somewhere else.Feelshallright wrote:Yes, I would like to have some details about this too.Tappistry wrote:Anyone have experience with that bunch of Dream Audio Tools libraries in the current AudioPluginDeals promotion? Harmor seems to go on sale several times a year for 1/2 off. I don't think there's a regular pattern.KBSoundSmith wrote:Anyone know when/how often Image Line products go on sale, or if 3rd parties do so? I'm specifically interested in Sytrus and Harmor. Thanks!
Sytrus does not go on sale that often, that I can recall.
Be sure you're signed up at the usual retailers: Audiodeluxe, JRR Shop, PluginBoutique.
Sometimes one will have a sale that others don't have. As an example, Morphine is now 40% off at Audiodeluxe as an exclusive sale and Toxic Biohazard is $39 at PluginBoutique as an exclusive sale.
