I’ve just posted a new video to my YouTube Channel- it’s a EDM/Dance music track! Instead of just posting a still picture for you to look at while the track plays, the video contains technical and musical information about the track. Something different - let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance for checking it out.

My Feedback
Music - 8
Instruments - 8
Performance - 9.5
Mix - 7.5
Overall - 8.25
Comments: Mix is a little quiet but it's clean. I think it could use with more compression. Vocals kind of overpower the backing track. It's not bad. I don't know. Needs to be livened up a bit. Drums kind of dull. But I guess given the overall sound of the track. They fit. But everything is just so dry except for the pads. Vocals sound really good though. She has a nice voice. Even there though, some of the parts are bone dry. I take it you're not a big fan of reverb. All of this aside, which is basically my issues with the mix, everything else is nice.

Thank you for your comments wagtunes. You make some great points. I don't consider myself a master of compression, so I often don't employ it even when it's needed for fear of overdoing it. And you're right about the lack of reverb; I purposely made some sections and instruments very dry for effect, but I guess I underused the 'verb on the wetter parts, so there is not the contrast I was after. Maybe I can get the vocals to "sit" better in the mix as well.
Thanks for your help and suggestions,
Bill

For those interested in improvisation, I've posted a related video explaining my approach to soloing over the changes to this track. I hope some listeners will find it interesting.
