So how's about we talk about all manner of glitch plugins here?

:?:

Here's a pretty comprehensive gallery of glitch VST plugins in nearly random order.

:!:

dblue Glitch combines a lot of the known good glitch effects under one roof. http://illformed.org/glitch/

arcDev noise industries http://device.antisound.net/ has Blittr and Hosebeast for buffer-sampling stuttery gl*tch box with a nice x-y pad & useless-but-cool wave and multicrapfx shredder.

ndc Plugs http://www.niallmoody.com/ndcplugs/ has several great glitchers like Buffer Synth (several great variations of stuttery and repeaters), Reversinator, Stretch & Squash, The Modulator 2, Tempo Sync Reverser and more. The names somewhat explain themselves.

Smartelectronix Koen Tanghe http://www.smartelectronix.com/~koen/ has KTgranulator that pays homage to the granular blocks in audiomulch.

Smartelectronix Destroy FX http://destroyfx.smartelectronix.com/ has, for example, the stutter/repeater effect buffer override, zipping and sliding thru time with scrubby and the modulator Skidder

Smartelectronix ioplong http://andreas.smartelectronix.com/ has a great collection of glich related paraphenelia, like the StepSequenced VstSampler Slifty, Slicer and Reorderer Splonki, Dynamic buffer freezer flitchSplifter, Stutter-Stretch Delay sloper and BigBuffer Reverse Delay deloiser. and more...

Smartelectronix mdsp http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/2005/07 ... review.php LiveCut is still in development but works like a charm for all manner of slicing.

Smartelectronix Bram http://bram.smartelectronix.com/ has Supatrigga for slicing and MadShifta for pitching and feedback effects. Bouncy does the bouncing ball delay.

Daisypusher is a "beginners glitch plug", available at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1632468

Phutboyslim by scuzzphut does the repeat effect well and easily. scuzzphut6, a pattern based gate does the stutter. http://scuzzphut.panicnow.net/Articles/plugins.html

Darkware had plenty of glitchy destruction plugins like Shattershot but doesn't seem to be available anymore. maybe one day. http://www.jackdark.net/

Subminimal http://subminimal.org/tools.php has pseudograins. It's a bit difficult to use bizarre little sample mangler granulator.

Devine Machine http://www.devine-machine.com/ has Repeat, Gate, Stutter and Scratch in Lucifer and heavy duty loop manipulation in Devine Machine

Heizenbox http://www.heizenbox.com/ is a granulizer plugin.

xoxos http://www.xoxos.net/vsti.html has Atomic and Gum for buffer overrides and glitching.

Very much just standard 'gating', but nifty in its own minimalist way is BetabugsAudio's GetaBlitch Jr. http://www.betabugsaudio.com/plugs.php

Tobybear http://www.tobybear.de/ has a collection of plugins that fall under deconstruction/glitch. There's Deconstructor and a collection of several of the great VST oddities in MonsterBag.

The grandfather of realtime slicing has to Vellocet Reorder available here: http://www.vellocet.com/software/VReorder.html

Whitenoiseaudio http://www.whitenoiseaudio.com/memory/ has a plugin called Memory. Quite similar similar to phutboyslim.

Livelab http://www.livelab.dk/ has LiveSlice which does some heavy duty loop manipulation also.

Pluggo http://www.cycling74.com/products/pluggo is the daddy of glitch related destruction.

ConcreteFX http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1386.html Buffered can do can do things like reversing sound, low-fi pitch shifting and other more eccentric things.

Tweakbench http://www.tweakbench.com/effects.php features a pack of FSU effects. There's syncronized gating in Cairo, a granular pitch shifter Sideslip and many more.

There's a synthedit repeater creation available called FreeZZZZer 2 by Diverse. http://www.gogma.com/diverse

Scroll further down this thread and you'll find some bitcrushers as well.

oh and discuss... :D

Smex LiveCut and Instajungle do some cutting, stuttering and slicing stuff, the Blittr and Hosebeast by Arcane Devices some nice mangling. Instajungle is pretty flexible and could work live.

JackDark's fx they make better sends.

Modular's Pseudograins could possibly be very cool but I can't actually claim that I understand the gui or how it works.

Paypal is ok btw.

thanks for the ArcDev tip and the others too.

I wonder if dblue glitch accepts midi keyinput to trigger on the different modules or important parameters. That would be pretty optimal for everything.

this here could help to get you started http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 31#1599131

and be sure to have a look at the manual as it explains some basics of how pseudograins works.

some kind of option to search for these in the database would be good, unless ive missed something. 'granualiser' or similar doesnt seem to be an option?

what does 'FSU' stand for?

Well that was the idea of this thread really, hoping it will gather enough info and experience to be stickied somewhere. :help:

There are plenty of plugins here already previously unknown to me. I'll report back with some experiences. Maybe I'll update the initial post at some point with proper linking and short descriptions as well.

All help is appreciated.

not a vst but hosts them, Audiomulch has very tasty granuthings, ktgranulator is inspired by one of those.

I consider granulating also all kind of nasty wavetravelling and loopstart/end modulations so Tobybear Helios is nice.

from ArcaneDevice check also Wavehack, Cyclotron & Blitter which is a sort of buffer override reborn.

oh, and Rozzer's Metalmickey & Oli Larkin's Gatecomb.
