Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum. i have been using Filterscape for a little while and absolutely love it, however I have been having a problem with the VA version. I can't get the EQ snapshots to morph properly. I'm sure I have the controls set the same as I would to do this in filterscape but it doesn't seem to work properly. If I have sync set very fast, say 1/32 it seems to work, but anythings slower, especially if I try to get nice slow morphs over say 4 bars (something i like to do) it just kind of wobbles very slightly and the longer the sync time, the less it wobbles. Am I doing something wrong? I am running Logic 7.2 on a dual 2.5Ghz G5.

Thanks

Hey,

maybe there's something buried in that patch that isn't obvious at first sight.

Just send me the preset to urs [at] u-he [dot] com and I'll look into it.

Cheers,

Okay, got the preset now.

Hehe, it got me thinking, but here's the problem:

The patch uses the arpeggiator. That means, the patch plays a lot of short notes. These retrigger the loop in the snapshot eq. Thus, with each note in the arpeggiator, the eq is reset to its initial state.

What you need is a modulation of the eq that does not reset with a note trigger. Currently your only option is using the global LFO to modulate the snapshot (or the ArpModulator, if you want complex eq patterns).

For future versions (due somewhen after Zebra and MFM2, somewhen in or before July) I've planned to add "single trigger" and "mono trigger" modes to any such modulators like the snapshot loop. Then you can use the snapshot eq in the way you intended.

However, conceptionally I always thought that if you need the snapshot eq in a global way, it would be advisable to turn the eq off in FilterscapeVA and add a Filterscape as an effect behind it. This way the snapshot eq doesn't have to be calculated for each voice and thus you can save some cpu cycles.

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

Wink Urs

Thanks for your help,

I will use a filterscape as an effect after it then, that seems like the obvious thing.

Just means I can use even more instances of Filterscape, man I love that plugin!
