Yeah, I started it and was just trying to find it to see what other people thought. I cannot believe we are being censored like this. I think its a really important issue that needs to be discussed. [EDIT: I meant charging for skins issue but realistically being censored is probably an even bigger, more important issue as it devalues KVR considerably.]
I was pointing out that reFX is charging $20 for skins for NEXUS and it seems that they have deliberately put the worst one on as the default, given that they describe the extras as "best" and "one we use the most". Very, very dodgy if you ask me.

Did it get really nasty or something? I don't recall it being that bad.

I posted it last thing before we had to pack-up the trade show stand yesterday so I didn't get to see even a single response. If it got nasty, I have no problem with individual posts being deleted, but only upon request from an aggrieved party, but to delete a valid discussion topic entirely is totally unacceptable.

hey bones, i knew you would feel that way too. when we all were talking with mike he didn't see it as a big deal because it was optional. ie; "you dont have to buy the extra skins" i think was what he said.

did someone cover that or?

anyway, decoder design, i have mad props for those cats. they do some freaking awesome work, but i'd never pay for any skin. it's kind of more of an issue to me though that it's like 'sacrilege' to the DIY-underground spirit (not to be confused with the spirit of vengence, and is anyone else totally tweaked that they are making a f**king ghost rider movie!?) to charge for a skin.

ever since mike dropped that on us i was trying to think of a single time where it was done before and couldn't think of any instances where a skinner was charging for a skin. now doing UI design for something and being paid is great, but that's different than CLOSING the skin system to outside third parties and all that.

i know i'm not the only person who would be much more interested to get my nexus on if the sound format was open and the skin format was open. the price would be a little more tolerable if that were the case...

horse dead yet?

Well said, Grymmjack. And I was a huge Ghost Rider fan back in the 80s (or was it 90s?). Hope they don't f**k it up.

there was nothing in that thread that should warrant it to be locked imo! i dont recall any extremely bad posts in it or anything. How did that thread fit into:

* KVR isn't a place for obtaining or discussing warez, cracks, porn, politics, etc.
* Flames/Stupid arguments.
* Elite-ness/Egos/One-upmanship/Penis comparison/Parent fights/etc.
* Format wars (Please…)/Host wars (Come on, try now…)/Platform wars (Leave it Darren, it's not worth it…).
* KVR isn't a free for all democracy where you can say what you like about who you like, respect one another and they will respect you.

There was no mention of warez etc, ok it might have gotten a bit heated but not overly so, im quite sure there was no penis comparison Confused, no 'host/ego wars' in there, ok this place isnt a democracy but cmon, deleting that thread was just pathetic.

Why delete it!? Why not lock. Oh wait, then people could read and form opinions Rolling Eyes, oh such a fool I am for thinking this was a forum. D'oh!
