Kaylee stopped laying on my lap. She did a couple of days ago for a few minutes, but that was it. That was the first time in probably nearly a month. But she has this new thing...whenever I'm standing or squatting, she rushes over to lay between my feet so I'll give her butt-pats. She's positively addicted! When she's on her high shelf acting crazy and spinning her wheels going back and forth and I'm afraid she might fall off, all I have to do is squat and she comes RUNNING down and dashes between my feet. ---- "Be excellent to each other." While he was out and about yesterday morning I put newspaper down over the bedding in his box and said newspaper was still dry when I checked and found him in there at 10pm last night. It was still dry at 6.15am today after his spending the night in there and while not conclusive proof he's isn't incontinent, it points that way The nurse at the vets who checked him for a chip commented on how much like a tom cat he smelled, she was being kind as he reeked of cat pee. I decided to change his box in the shed earlier, and while said shed has had the smell of cat pee for some time and not all of it can be put down to ginger, once the box was removed it didn't take long for the air inside to get a whole lot sweeter. The bottom of the box was pretty wet as well, strange as I'd put it on top of a old metal pc case to avoid ground moisture, so it could well be pee having soaked down. If he is incontinent that may explain why he's been abandoned/rejected at home as it wouldn't be the first time I'd seen/heard of this happening. Owners who couldn't be bothered to neuter will hardly have bladder issues investigated. I'll have to keep a close eye on him, tho' a lot easier said than done when he's not here that much. I'm still a bit miffed at his refusal to even look at the wooden box I cobbled together for him, he much prefers the old cardboard box instead. I may throw that away (or just hide it) in the hope he'll use the new wooden box as it'll at least be warmer. ---- RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever. |

My parents' cats sit quietly on my dad's lap when he trims their nails. Kaylee mews pathetically and struggles with all her might to get away when I set her on my lap to trim her nails.
