Once had a neighbour whose cat did that. He figured it out when he came home to find his cat & dog lying on the floor only slightly responsive. When the first panic had ebbed away, he noticed the open fridge door and a missing kilo of frozen minced meat
He fastened the door with rubber bands since then.

Maple is a bit tough to get the nails............the sirens get pretty loud (maybe a little bit of hissing sometimes)

I don't trust that those cats were actually treated humanely, especially in 1870.

Especially the 2nd from last pic at the bottom, with the cat next to the "tooth ache relief" bottle, aka probably some kind of opiate/cocaine tincture of sorts from that time period.

Photographer's Assistant: "The cat wont cooperate for this here photograph Edison."

Photographer: "Just give him a spoonful of what's in the bottle. He will be docile in no time Jeeves."

I have a cat that wants NOTHING more than to BE OUTSIDE! She's trying every trick in the book to get by me when I come in.

If she'll allow me to, I'll put her harness on and take her out on the deck. I can't really walk her around the yard because she ends up freaking out at some point nearly every time I do. She'll literally flip out.
