Hey,
The sound is only coming out of one channel, any reason why this may be happening? I just tested the cable, and it's working perfectly - so I know it's not that. Any ideas? Thanks! |

it could be several things.
first if you have a dmm test the resistance with a setting of 500ohm or less to see if the channel you're expecting audio from is connected to ground. is this supposed to be a stereo output? if the resistance is high, it could be maybe there is no current limiting resistor on the output for this device. if not, it might be that a mono jack was plugged into the connection and killed the buffer for that channel. this would possibly be the case if it is the right channel which is dead. otherwise, it might just be a loose/broken solder joint. try wiggling the jack to see if it moves, and if this brings the signal back, or creates crackle on the missing channel. it may not help to wiggle it though, you may have to just open it up and check the solder joint in question. if it is the right channel which is 'dead', it is also more likely that the output is simply a mono output rather than stereo. it is really unlikely that the output doesnt have short circuit protection. usually these outputs will be buffered by a tl072 or something similar which includes this protection. i dont know anything about the synth specifically, so if it is a configuration problem rather than a hardware problem i have no idea. |
