Love the story, great way to get in touch with your musical past. Pretty cool way to reconstruct a song, too.
In terms of suggestions or criticisms, the piece sounds a bit distorted (levels a bit high?); I'd prefer it a bit cleaner myself. The drums are maybe a bit repetitive and have a pretty canned feeling to them.
Overall, though, I really like this piece. It feels very 80s (appropriately enough, right?), and I love music from that decade. The sounds have a big, full, cheesy feel (in a good way); they fit together better than I'd expect given their individual fullness.
Nice stuff, enjoyed it a lot.
