this kind of request comes up relatively often here. however, to garner interest you'll probably need to

(a) give more information on what is expected of the programmer
(b) give more information on the plugin
(c) give a decent amount of information on what/how you're going to pay (up-front, per-hour, royalties et.c.)

Hey there,
If you're looking for something complex I probably can't help, but I have SM if you're looking for a simple thing, like. PM me with your idea if you'd like to keep it under your hat.
Wishing you satisfying music, nix

Ok. There should be a sticky titled "Have a great idea for a plug-in?" with some infos about what, exactly, is possible for the average kvrist who has a cool idea. i.e. how much they should expect to pay at a full programmer's rate, tips on how to introduce an idea that would be collaborative (i.e. no payment), references to d.i.y. resources (max/msp, SM, etc) and perhaps a listing of devs who would be interested in helping out/getting hired.

Really. I think that if people know who they're talking to they might have more of a chance to bring their idea to reality. I'd much rather see that than any poor guy who comes along getting eaten alive by the mean dev forum.

There hasn't really been any live eatings lately though, has there?

Well, there was that guy who wanted some kind of custom multi-tracker.

Sticky stuff applied. I took the liberty of changing README to all caps in hopes it will be more attention-getting, but unless posters read the forum listing that's a forlorn hope.

Awesome. Feel free to fix any spelling or grammatical errors too. Also, I didn't mean for the post to the final word. If someone else could add some of the other stuff asomers mentions, that'd be great.

Except for a typo or two it looks pretty good to me. If you don't mind, I'd like to change a couple of "probably"s to "might"s, and to highlight that last paragraph in yellow to make the "here's how to work with, not against, the situation" part really stand out.

Invariably this is the first and last post from these "idea-men".

Their ideas are usually either impossible or can be done in some other way already by something else.

Very little to edit, it's well written and gets to the point. Here's a link to it, for the benefit of aircut007 and anyone else who'd like to read it:
