does anyone else has this problem? didnt see anything about it in the known issues... Do you have a dual core computer? ...and if so, do you have multi processing enabled in Cubase? There is a bug in SynthEdit (the program I use to make my VSTs) which causes the host to crash when you have multi processing enabled in your host and you try to use more than one instance of the same SE plugin. Jeff McClintock, SynthEdit's creator, is aware of the problem and has promised a fix with the next (eagerly and long awaited) update of SE. As soon as that update is finally released, I will be updating all my VSTs to get rid of that bug. In the meantime, here are three potential workarounds for the problem... - Turn off the multi processor support setting in your host when you need multiple instances of my VSTs. - Freeze the first instance before loading the second. (Especially if your host has an 'unload while frozen' option.) - Make extra copies of the dll, with different names (eg: metallurgy2.dll, metallurgy3.dll) for each extra instance you may need. (Hosts will consider each new dll name as a new single instance.) I know none of these are optimal solutions, but at least it's something. As soon as Jeff releases that update, I'll release a proper fix for this for all my plugins. |
