Discovery is a cool synth, but don't try to kid yourself that it's somehow a Nord Lead just because they "borrowed" the user interface design from Clavia. |

It's not user interface they borrowed, it's the synth architecture. The user interface is just a mouse. ---- "For some reason everyone on this site hates Roger Nichols, loves Zebra, doesn't need a Virus (unless it's TI), uses Reaper, and thinks the Kaoss pad is cool: remember these rules and you'll be popular." It's not user interface they borrowed, it's the synth architecture. The user interface is just a mouse. My mouse needs more buttons ---- “There is no wealth like knowledge, no poverty like ignorance” ― Ali Bin Abi Thalib Too many daws... |

I thought this thread was about Nord Wave ---- “There is no wealth like knowledge, no poverty like ignorance” ― Ali Bin Abi Thalib Too many daws... |

Not really. It's about "VST's similar to the Nord Wave in features/functionality". |

Discovery is modeled after NL 2 and 2X. Discovery Pro is modeled after Nord Wave. ---- DFusion (On Esoundz) |

No, it is not! It is not even similar to Nord Wave. |

No, it is not! It is not even similar to Nord Wave. I thought that the Discovery Pro was modeled after Nord Wave like Discovery is modeled after Nl 2-2x. It does have a wave oscillator like the Nord Wave. ---- DFusion (On Esoundz) |

Nord Wave has two oscillators (and you can set both of them to wave mode) and one of them can modulate another, which is entirely different from Discovery Pro's single wave oscillator that cannot do anything else than simply playing a sample. There are other differences of course, for example Nord Wave is capable of simple 4-operator FM synthesis. |
