A friend e-mailed me about an argument on KVR over one of my plugs, and I came to see what all the fuss was about. Nobody talks about my plugs anymore, but I'm still strangely amused enough to find much of what is said on this site mildly entertaining.

I composed the topic with the question that way because it's been long enough ago I couldn't remember what my first post was about.

I became a member because it was the first time I seen a community of people with the same interest as me! Seeing how this site keeps getting better and better I am glad to join!

Thats actually what made me sign up also, when i first started checking KVR out i got that message all the time, I had to sign up just to able to see what was here.

In 2002 I started to use software more often and someone mentioned KVR to me. I lurked for a bit, then joined in January of 03...thus solidifying my addiction to plugins and beginning the collection of dust on my hardware synths. My first post was to say hi to BONES and to compliment him on his synths.

seriously i joined to post, i was lurking since the opening way way back in memory lane, i was here for free plugs, free banks and a good reading fun

i joined because, having recorded for about 15 years using "laughably" primitive methods (i.e. tape, and synths/drum machines/sequencers "sync'ed" by ear ) i suddenly found myself bereft of all my gear (i lived in a very dodgy area of liverpool. my flat was repeatedly "cleared out". the last time, they took everything. i mean "everything". and if you bought an 808 in the N.W. UK in 97 for an unfeasibly low price, it's probably mine. )

i was intrigued by the liberating potential of [home] computers to make music for which i'd previously handed over several giro cheques to some hack engineer to make. but i didn't have a clue how to go about it, so...

anyway. fed up of being this.

It's a little more complicated but basically I joined so I could tell Kriminal to STFU.

I think I first came here looking for some info about cleaning up some vinyl rips, but I know I lurked for a few months before posting. I knew this was an interesting place to hang out after reading some of the funny shit that Sickle and Donks were posting at the time.
Donks' haircut thread was probably what convinced me to stay.
