Have the DVD, but unfortunately not the first release that included the alternate ending. Not that it matters, Very nice little film. Yeah, it was cute. Definitely have seen far, far worse than that. I agree there are far worse films, but I can usually avoid them. LSOH reminded me of how much I really detest musicals. The only exception is that I really like all the old B&W Astaire/Rogers films. But, then, with music from Irving Berlin and the Gershwins...it's really hard to go wrong. I'll add West Side Story to my list as well. Oh, and How The West Was Won and Oklahoma. Have you seen the recent musical remake of Reefer Madness with Alan Cummings? I think either Showtime or Cinemax created it and it might be on DVD now. I thought that it was pretty awesome as far as musicals go. |

I gave up after two Roger Moore films (until the one last year). To me Bond has been boiled down to Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Thunderball and Goldfinger. All the rest are crap. On Her Majesty's Secret Service would also have been good if Connery had been in it. George Lazenby really couldn't muster up, especially not with a co-star like Dianna Rigg. Connery and Rigg? Man that would have been amazing. |

That was my official first review of it. But in retrospect it was much worse than that. They literally cut out all the punchlines. Amazingly senseless would have been a better description. |

The end.
That sounds awesome!!!! What's it called and when's it coming out?!?!?! |

Actually the best and worst part of that movie was that it in no way resembled a Bond film. Does that make any sense at all? I do get a kick out of the original Casino Royale, though (David Niven, Peter Sellers, Woody Allen, Orson Wells, etc.) |

i thought of a kid's movie i couldn't sit through, cars. i tried to avoid it, but my redneck gf bought it for us. how did they cram so many backwards things into one film? it's a glorification of stupidity. i couldn't make it through the whole thing. my daughter hasn't watched it again ---- "Most people who experiment with drugs are not lying in the streets, suffocating on their own vomit. I just can't imagine pitching that film. Writer: "See the plot is a group of soldiers goes and finds this one guy and save him." Producer: "Then what?" Writer: "They find him and everybody gets killed except the guy who's being saved." Producer: "............we'll let you know." Let's face it, it has even less substance than King Kong's plot. Good thing Peter Jackson didn't film Ryan or it would also have been 3.5 hours long. Wow, that's all you got out of it? ---- I've joined Lurkers Anonymous. |
