Post examples of where you or someone you knew misheard the lyrics of a song with funny results.
Here's mine: in the song For You Blue by the Beatles, there's a section where Lennon takes sort of a minimalist guitar solo and Harrison can be heard in the background saying "Go Johnny, go!". Then he says what I think is "Elmore James ain't got nothin' on this, baby!". Once while this song was playing on the radio at work, one of my coworkers looked at me and asked (in total seriousness) "Why does he say Elbow James ain't got nothing on his finger?" ---- Yes! |

I wondered for years what "Wrapped up like a douche" meant ---- Trying to change the world by posting on a forum is like crying on the Sun to put it out. |

There's always "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy" and "Bingo Jed has a light on".
Actually, I had a roommate who saw John Fogerty and he said John did intentionally say "There's a bathroom on the right" a couple times during Bad Moon Rising. ---- Yes! |

Oh, the same coworker I mentioned in the first post was shocked when I told him he was wrong in thinking that Robert Plant said "Your conscience hits you like a backwards pill" in Living Loving Maid instead of "If your conscience hits you/knock it back with pills." ---- Yes! |

I have a songbook (the kind of official type) with Genesis-songs that has a lot of errors in the lyrics. One of the funnier ones is "Carpet crawlers" where the needle's eye in the line "where the needle's eye is winking, closing on the poor" is exchanged to an "eagle's eye". Poor "poor people"... |
