I was just thinking that some 'Dalek' like vocal phrases might be great for the oneshot part. You know the Dalek type in Dr. Who. In fact many types of modified or robotized but still understandable voices will be useful.
Or, maybe HG you can expand that part so it's got some decent FX for this mods - just asking Very Happy

Hm, as of some 'decent' FX to that part I'll take this into consideration but not right atm. Anyway I'll fix a minor thing related to the waves displays in that part soon. But anyting else has to go to a major update later as it requires some more amount of rework to the GUI which is then a bit crucial.

yep, 'Dalek' and even 'Darth Vader' like voc phrases will be a nice addition.
HiHi

In fact in order to get the most variety for the Dreammachine the OneShot/Vocal Phrase, Sparkles and back parts should be targets to 3rd party devs. I would not bother too much about the Bottom/Bass part as the most distinguishable sounds to do more unique sounding music creations is within the three aforementioned parts.

Yes, I'll have to - really a bit tired ... though indirectly I'm looking for some more oneshot / vocal phrases stuff - just gathering some basic material to be processed later Very Happy

btw:
The Dreammachine has been mentioned quite extensively at sonicstate podcast
http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid =7229
though they did not get it there is is a MIDI in and the basic usage of TDM is to supply background stuff to play along ... kind of funny then.

HG,

Thanks for the link to the podcast. They seem favorably impressed by Dreammachine.

I think it's great! And WoF is too! I really appreciate you creating these sound production machines with an eye on producing long evolving music. It's a refreshing change from the percussion-beat-driven electronic music that so many people seem to like.

One thing mentioned in the podcast, that I too was confused about, is your referring to the Dreammachine as TDM. When I first became aware of you and the synth, I thought it was a TDM format plug, something I could not run on my PC, and therefore not worth investigating. It looked so interesting though, and I studied the info (either here or on your site) for a while before I realized is was not "TDM," but "The Dream Machine." Maybe you should make that clearer somehow. I'd hate for people to miss out on this machine because of a simple communication error.

Thanks!

Dave,

hmm, TDM is quite obviously (at least as I see it) an acronym of The DreamMachine as it reflects the first letter of each single word used in the name. Just like SCI has been the acronym for Sequential Circuits Inc for example.

I'm addicted to TDM. This is more fun than I've ever had with a vst, and I'd gladly pay for additional banks of pads, etc. Never worked with SF2 files before (except just playing them) so I wouldn't even know where to begin putting together a bank for TDM. I know there are numerous KVRians out there who could expand the horizons of this synth. What say ye?

For all who might be interested: grab a free Soundfont Librarian from Creative Labs / EMU which can be used even without a Creative Soundblaster / Audigy card to manage and reorganize soundfont files.

grab it here:
http://connect.creativelabs.com/developer/SoundFon t/Forms/AllItems.aspx (3rd item from bottom of list)

very easy to use as it does support drag and drop to copy presets from one soundfont to another. Two minor drawbacks are that you'll probably have to renumber the presets manually and without a Creative Soundblaster / Audigy card there is no option listening to a preset.

me thinks that's a neat step to get customized wavesets for the Dreammachine as it's fairly easy to do individual soundfonts from other or free sf2.

and yes, HG you'd add a warning to your page on the Dreammachine as one might easily get addicted. HiHi Love Very Happy Angelic hyper

Thanks for this jeyC - I did add that to my TDM page Wink

btw. these days I'm going to rework the internal control of the OneShot / vocal phrase part probably adding a more flexible control for adjustable lengths between each step. This will be an option added if it works as expected. also this rework should solve the inconsistencies in wavedisplay at this part.

cheers
