maybe , but what would be the point ?
Pro2's big differances are what makes it so more CPU hungry and to lose them it would just be OPX or pro l again ?

In fact there already IS a special version which is optimized for VFX and the V-Machine: The VFX Edition, which is included in every standard license as separate download.

The VFX Edition is a vfxlibrary that can be copied directly to a USB stick and licensed within VFX (point the library location to the library on the stick for this). It's optimized in the same way as the VM Bundle, which means it includes a Non-GUI version of OP-X PRO-II which is automatically activated if used in the V-Machine which guarantees for optimal performance and stability.

BUT, as mentioned already, the remaining problem is that the V-Machine in its current state simply has not enough CPU power to run OP-X PRO-II at full polyphony. It works well with 3-4 voices activated, but more voices involved overload the cpu.

You can check it by yourself (using the VFX Edition) by creating a custom bank in VFX where you put some presets and cut down their polyphony to 3, max 4 voices (by deactivating voices). Reduced like this it works exceptionally well in the V-Machine, very stable, and the sound is really fantastic over the V-Machine's converters.

That's why I still very much hope for the CPU upgrade. If this really will increase speed by a factor of 3 this could be enough for OP-X PRO-II, and the V-Machine would be a really excellent hardware host for it! Everything is ready...

Their current stance is "no news until release is imminent", which is a good idea.

I still don't understand how it could take so long in the first place, even if they are a small company. But hey, if Duke Nukem Forever saw the light of day...

i hate to be a pessimist, it sucks and i like to like things and i have 2 v-machines that i bought with the philosophy that they will sooner die out than get a cpu upgrade, but all that said...

what do you think will happen first, cpu upgrade or man returning to the moon?

mars?

various asteroids?
