well i finally figured out why no one ever critiques my songs on here, it seems my music is to normal or mainstream compared to the barage of elevator music i've heard on here recently, maybe i'll give a drone ambient bong song a go and see if that will get me some critiques or i could be wrong and it's just that i'm new and this is just like school it take time to crack into the elite cliques on here oh well what the hey.

its closer to your second reason but not quite.
its a little "you get what you give" ie try commenting on others tracks, the more people see you doing such the more the favour will be returned.

there is no "too normal or mainstream" we have all kinds here from experimental to pop through metal and dance...

First of all,

I think most people happen by songs here in the cafe through the Member's Music player - which only picks up direct links to .mp3 or .ogg files.

Since your tune is on Soundclick, don't expect many to hear it without going to the cafe to look for new songs.

That's not how I usually get the new songs in the cafe - it's almost always through the player.

Now, normally I won't even click on soundclick links because it automatically shrinks my browser window, even though I don't want that to happen. It's really irritating.

But I gave yours a click.

What kind of critique are you looking for?

I like the playing, but I don't care for the sound of the acoustic guitar - it sounds like an under-saddle-transducer and I prefer the natural sound of a mic'ed acoustic guitar.

Something else I would change: I would lay off of the phased pad sound and bring in some other pad voicing for variety. As it is, it's playing for a full minute and a half if not more. Then it comes in again for another minute.

I like the center section of the song, but it doesn't seem to flow with the acoustic book-ends of the song - just my opinion. In that center section, some drum fills at the end of 4 or 8 bar phrases would be welcomed. Right now, the same loop plays over and over for too many measures. There's a little break with the 'you wanna fight president bush' section, but then there it comes back again for another 30-40 measures. I like the figures in your soloing in some sections.

If programming drum fills is not your thing, I highly recommend taking a look at Jamstix. You could set it to 'jam' with this song and get all kinds of realistic and interesting fills.

Finally, you just posted the song yesterday. It takes some time to get comments on kvr; particularly for non-direct linked songs.

Rockstar not, thanks yes thats the kind of things i'm looking to hear.
I'm just learning so i'd like to hear how to improve though i might not change the songs i've done so far but will use what i learn in my next attempt,As for the acoustic guitar it was kind of to symbolize peace and resolution at the end. i felt the angry parts made good on not needing fills.I have to many drum programs as it is. again thanks very much for your input i will think about those point when doing my next piece.
