We are pleased to release a major version 3 update for our mastering limiter - Elephant. Version 3.0 features a lot of enhancements over the previous version: multi-platform support, multi-channel operation, wider selection of limiter modes, preset manager, and others.

Voxengo Elephant is a mastering limiter plug-in for professional music production applications. The most remarkable feature of this signal limiter is its ultimate transparency. Elephant brings sound limiting and loudness maximization without any audible "pumping" effects.

Elephant is a highly competitive plug-in for mastering applications: it features a variety of limiter modes that can be deeply customized, and a comprehensive set of level metering tools. Elephant's built-in linear-phase oversampling is a new standard in quality peak limiting and loudness maximization.

Elephant limiter can be used for mixing and mastering of both stereo and multi-channel music and sound material, at any standard sample rate.

Elephant, also featuring a DC offset filter, and a high-quality bit-depth converter with an optional noise-shaping, allows you to finish your music and audio productions with a spark.

Voxengo Elephant features:
  • Transparent signal limiting action
  • 10 predefined limiter modes
  • Limiter mode editor
  • Optional release stage
  • Noise-shaped bit-depth converter
  • DC offset removal filter
  • Multi-channel processing
  • Internal channel routing
  • Channel grouping
  • Up to 8x linear-phase oversampling
  • 64-bit floating point processing
  • Preset manager
  • Undo/redo history
  • A/B comparisons
  • Contextual hint messages
Voxengo Elephant can be loaded into any audio host application that conforms to the VST or AudioUnit plug-in specification. Plug-in is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista (32- and 64-bit) and Mac OS X 10.4.11 and above (Intel and PowerPC) computers (2 GHz dual-core or faster processor with at least 1 GB of system RAM recommended). A separate binary distribution file is available for each target computer platform for each plug-in format.

One-month introductory price of US$69.95 is now effective, which is 20% off the regular price. Upgrading from the previous version costs US$44.95 if previous version was purchased earlier than 90 days from now: otherwise upgrade is free during this grace period. Demo version of Elephant can be downloaded at the Voxengo web site: http://www.voxengo.com/

Nice. Elephant is good. One of these days, I will buy it back, as I had to sell it a bit ago. Good to see it getting the update treatment.

I can tell you guys right off the bat, this thing kicks major ass! It's possible to dial in some much more aggressive limiting that "chops off" the transients in a better way than Elephant v2.

It's currently my go-to limiter and has made me cancel the purchase of iZotope Ozone.

Cheers!

Thanks Aleksey! I woke up this morning and found the email in my inbox. I went immediately to your site and upgraded from V2 to V3. Looking forward to using this thing!

Been waiting for this, long in the tooth Elephant user here - no brainer!

Also just picked up Stillwell 'The Rocket' compressor (replaces Kjaerhus GPP), FabFilter Pro Comp (replaces my Flux anxiety), and DrMS (replaces lots of hand wiring of MSED, thanks bduffy!), and the new Electri-Q (replaces Ozone EQ and others I think).

Anyway - it's been a great month for VST plugin releases. Not to discourage any of the developers on my replacements... "...the first one now will later be last for the times are a changin'..." Times are good, things change, keep 'em comin' !

Oh hell yeah!

This is a wicked improvment on Elephant 2. Love the "Clip" and "Max" modes, this really sounds amazing. You have won me over, Aleksy! :tu:

(Glad you liked DrMS, Kylen. :D )

Looks interesting, i will demo this soon. Glad to see Elephant updated!
T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

Thanks for your replies! Other plug-ins will get a reworking soon. BTW, my suggestion is to try "Masters Punch" preset - I was very shocked myself discovering that a high gain is possible without sounding harsher than clipping (and thanks to bmanic for the preset idea). One can get -7 dB RMS track easily with it. Well, you are getting distortion, of course, but a very nicely sounding one.

From your OvertoneEq, i see that your have a very advanced preset management and routing system. Ths alone, with the aility of M/s processing and the new GUI makes the upgrade worthy (i nmy case, it would mean just buying it).

I will try that new version this evening.

Is there anything new DSP-wise (new limiting alogs, etc) ?

Yes, it's the main catch - new "evolved" limiter algorithm "EL UNI", plus a lot deeper control over parameters. EL UNI is in no way inferior to original EL-2 and EL-3 modes, but on top of that it usually offers a better sound, with better transient response.

I'll definately be upgrading. :tu:

BTW, Aleksey, I just noticed I have an upgrade option for Pristine Space! When did you add that in? I asked about it a while back and I'm very pleased to see it! :D
