What is your job?
- design sounds for Tone2 Gladiator
- create short sequences like this http://www.tone2.com/Tone2_Gladiator_HCM_synthesis _Dance_and_Pop.mp3
- report bugs

Your benefits:

- You can play with the new beta version earlier than the others
- Your name will be mentioned in the about box of the product
- If you do a good job, you get free full versions of Tone2 products
- If you do an excellent job you can earn cash (only pro-designers)

Payment for hobby designers:
- Every sound which is taken to to final product will be worth $10 [update]
Example: You build 3 good sounds and get a BiFilter2 license

Payment for pro-designers:

Every sound which is taken to to final product will be worth $10 in cash. When you have finished your job you write a bill and receive your money by bank transfer.

Note: Quality is important, not quantity. All your sounds will be hand-picked by me or Bastiaan. Only good ones will be selected. We are allowed to improve your sounds slightly to make them fit to the soundset.

Requirements:
You must own a full version of Gladiator or be a professional sound designer.

Write an email to:

- tone2@tone2.com
- topic: Application for Gladiator patch design
- hobby or pro?
- content: Your full name + address + phone + website address (if available) + which tone2 product you own + a short text why you think that you are qualified for the job

Best Regards,
Markus

You can start with the patchdesign right now. Use Gladiator v1.2.2. You will receive the beta as soon as i implemented all features. The patches from v1.2.2 can be imported to the new version.
Save them as gls and glb files. Do NOT use your host for saving a FXB, beacuase it does only save the current patch.

If you have questions/reports ask them in the beta 1 thread here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3318 286

If you have questions about sound design ask them here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3318 290

Try to avoid email traffic, since i must concentrate on programming. You can also call me on the phone +49 8031/237643.

Cheers!

You need to do 6 outstanding sounds. Previous patch-design-orgies have shown that only 15% did it to the final product. Building 6 outstanding sound can be a challenging task! It depends on your skills.

I think you guys missed the alternative - the hobbyist sound designer, who does not have to own a full version of Gladiator, but can not be paid in cash - rather in credits toward a Tone2 product. Smile

what means 'Pro': a name, you can advertise your product with, like Manuel Schleis or Richard Devine. Some people buy it, because they like the stuff from this guy e.g. . This is the extra 5$.
Cons of pros ... ah probs with Pros: they usually do their routine-stuff with every synth as far as it's possible and thus sometimes potential clients don't buy a license, because they think: 'this synth sounds like xy; so i don't need it' etc.
Gladiator is a good example for this.

Ok. I increased the payment for hobby designers to $10.

An experienced sound designer creates 4 sounds per hour. This is $40 for one hour of work. I think this is a rather fair payment.

Pros are people who regularly earn money with sound design and have references to other professional projects.
