Hi All,
Please forgive me for such a simple question but I have recently started mixing completely inside the box and I was wondering about Pre and Post-Fader uses in Cubase 4 or any DAW for that matter. Since the circuitry is completely different from a console, what are the differences between pre-fader insert/send effects and post-fader insert/send effects? And how are these differences useful mixing inside the box? |

Pre-fader and post-fader sends are the same as what you're used to.
Pre-fader and post-fader inserts are as the name suggests. The fader is simply a gain stage after the pre-fader inserts and before the post-fader inserts. -Kim. |

I think what is throwing me off is that I am using Cubase Studio 4 and the channel strip does not have a gain attenuator. Also, the way to engage pre or post is by either using insert/send 1-6 (pre) or 7-8 (post). |
