Offline Renderer - what does that do?

Continued from the history topic, the question was Offline Renderer - what does that do?

The short answer: it processes the master media file using the current set of loaded plugins, producing a .wav file.

As for why is it only in Performer, that's just what I decided at the time I put it in - no logical reason except to make performer a little more attractive I guess.
