Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off a note on a given step (so that the note would be skipped for that step)? I tried right clicking the note/step, but that did not work.

Also, is there a way to specify the number of steps for each side (line 1 and line 2)? For instance, I might want one side to use the full 8 steps and the other side to use only 6 steps. (This would be useful when using the 1>2 cascading function.)

Hi realyer

Sorry I didn't see this till now.

To make a note not play turn it's Velocity to 0. On most synths that will cause a note not to get played.

No you are stuck at 8 steps per Line. You can have line 1 and 2 set to different times to get a more random or progressing feel

I just downloaded the demo. How do I make it play? I'm using Sonar 8.

Thanks!

Hi Dave

Seq 28-116 needs to be inserted between the MIDI from the track and the synth you want to play. Feed it a note and you'll be off.

I used Sonar but I really can't remember exactly how, besides I think things have changed since V2.

There is a manual that should help you some.

If you have too many hassles then a modular host like E-XT will handle Seq really well.

To recap:

MIDI track - Seq 28-116 - Synth and play a note or 3

I hope this helps

I've got it working now.

In Sonar 8PE, I opened Seq 28-116 in the Synth Rack and enabled "Send MIDI Data." Then I opened Rapture and assigned its MIDI Input to Seq 28-116.

Works fine now!

Thanks for your help!

I tried out the demo, but the volume knobs don't seem to do anything in my host (FL studio). Everything else appears to work, any ideas?

Hi Tom

The "vol" knobs are really MIDI Velocity. Setting a knob to 0 should skip that step. Because each synth handles velocity individually then results can vary.

The "MIDI CC" section will allow you to send volume events to do Trance Gate type stuff.

I hope this helps and let me know how you go.
