I'll keep it brief. Ability to add drums, lock those pads, and then load a new sound as a loop into all remaining unlocked pads. That way, you'll have an area for the drums, and all remaining area's for your auto chopped loop. Just a thought… |

Hi Killahcane,
It is possible to lock the pads. (I'm not sure if you saw that). So it could be done with pre-sliced loops, inconvenient though. I'll keep it in mind when I do the loop slicing functions. There are a couple of things I need to address first though. - Shannon |

very simple request: invert pad numbers (as option)
in POISE, the pads are laid out like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, (down) etc, with numbers increasing from top left to bottom right. on the mpc, it's the opposite: numbers increasing from bottom left to top right: (up) etc, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, this makes using poise's sweet "pad link" function kind of awkward - my brain has become hardwired with this bottom to top order. ---- electronic instrumentalism, MIDI instrument design, and words. |

2nd request: larger font option in sample browser!!!
i am not too close to my monitors in my music setup, and it sometimes is very difficult to browse samples because the poise font is so small in the sample browser. i'm fine with the font everywhere else because i know the interface by heart (love love love) but the S.B. is on some minuscule, nym-is-getting-old type of thing ---- electronic instrumentalism, MIDI instrument design, and words. |

Hey Nym,
It should be easy to make an option for the browser font size. Hopefully the next update. - Shannon |

Five Recommended Poise Additions/Enhancements
Hi fellow Poise users, Poise simply is amazing and has room to become even better! I've been using it for less than a day in Reaper 3.4 and cannot get over how fantastic the workflow is. I have five suggestions to enhance the workflow even further. You can view them here along with illustrations & video: http://www.musicproducer.tv/121.html 1. Longer & larger wave display window 2. Adjust the horizontal zoom of the Waveform display by clicking in the Waveform display and drag down to zoom in or drag up to zoom out. 3. Assign MIDI CC to controls. 4. More Drum Pads (32 total recommended) 5. Built in Slicer Editor (this is a wish-list feature and not absolutely necessary) Again, you can view them here: http://www.musicproducer.tv/121.html Shannon, I hope these are feasible enough for you to implement. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, I'm all ears - Chris |

Is an update to Poise in the works? Again, Poise is amazing but needs a few workflow enhancements to make it even better. If funds are needed to help speed up the update process I'd be more than willing to contribute. I'm that serious about the potential of Poise to literally overtake the hardware MPC minus the sequencer and of course destroy all these other EXPENSIVE software machines. |

If you do ever implement 32 pads, please could you do it Bank 1 & Bank 2 style either switching 1/2 or Side by side 1/2.
I have an Akai mpd16 and has only 16 pads, but has a bank button you press to change the 16 pads for other sounds... Personally for me 16 is enough, so maybe if you do do 32 make it compatible for 16 pad use, where the next 16 can be hidden/opened or switched. |

Shannon,
The main beauty of Poise is the ability to do SO MUCH with just your PC keyboard and MIDI Controller (in my case a M-Audio Trigger Finger). One key area I'd like to see updated is the ability to 'LEARN MIDI CONTROLLER' for the START and END POINT in the Wave Display area. Having to use your mouse when editing the start and end points of a sample slows down the work flow when most MIDI Controllers have knobs and sliders available to handle such an important function of Poise. This would be a killer workflow enhancement for all Poise users. |
