The whole concept of 'disposable' income gives me pause. I don't think that anyone really has income that is truly disposable.

I'm a high school student who relies on the help of his family, so no, it doesn't apply to me. I'll drop it for now though, and wait for a response from Cinesamples.

Thanks.

Have you considered Sample Modeling's French Horn and Tuba at EUR 149?

The Euro amounts to many more USD, and no, I'd prefer Cinebrass and yes, I'm aware of the fact that it doesn't have any French Horns.

About D82 on Musician's Friend: over $40 for "shipping" for most countries except USA. This looks like some sort of scam.

But there has to be the info that for Germans (and maybe all other Europeans) the Sonic Maximizer costs more than $52...that's no gossip, that's solely INFORMATION!

It is information.. that should be over here in the conversation thread. Smile

The deal thread is only for the actual deal -- you were mentioning the shipping of an already posted deal.. that needs to be over here. Only the actual deal needs to be posted in the deal thread.

That's a lot.. but you have to remember its an American company largely.. they just happen to now ship some stuff overseas.

It is no different from someone in the USA ordering through Thomann as they charge around 37 dollars to ship a software box over here.

Wait, they ship an actual box, not a digital download? A box, for a couple of megabytes?

It's actually probably just a number on a card that you're after, though I'd guess there's a CD of some sort, too. If they knew what they were doing they could just un-box the product and email the code/SN/whatever. I assume they are liquidating some boxed product stock in cooperation with BBE(Nomad?) or maybe of their own volition. That's all speculation on my part, but I'd bet IK jampoints on at least some of it. I'm having one shipped on a whim (USA). Thanks to the deal poster. Oh, I did notice sometime back that MF has many downloadable items for sale, though this isn't one of them.

Yep.

MF reviews state the cd is pretty worthless as the copy protection methods changed since that cd was pressed.. so you need to go to the nomadfactory site and download the updated files then use the serial on the cd sleeve to register.

for 14 bucks.. worth a shot to me..

Thanks, I'll go back and read about that. I'm really fickle, I guess, because I agonized over getting Etch at $20 and pretty much just ordered this without thinking for $13.48. I've had and used various Sonic Maximizer boxes over the years including one of the first. I never liked them all that much, but they can be just the ticket sometimes. I remember reading about the process some years back from someone who reverse engineered it and I seem to recall that it was very simple. Anyway, there's a little nostalgia angle there for me, but I suppose there is for Etch, too. I think I've seen the suite of three plug-ins for around $50 before, though I wasn't all that interested in the other two since they seemed maybe more Nomad than BBE. Plus, this is even cheaper than that per plug-in.
