lol.. maybe you misunderstood what I said. I didn't get them because I hate Kontakt. the "Since" part is for the second phrase. "Since I hate Kontakt, I'll have to convert them... blahblah" is what it's supposed to mean. |

I prefer to keep my computer in shape and clean of bloatware Also I don't care about Kontakt's excuse for sculpting, since I am very sound-engineering approach rather than musician, I prefer to do sound sculpting myself with less bloated tools, like modular synths (Bidule etc...)... greater control even, with much less bloat. And mind you I do pretty crazy morphs/my own "harmonic alignment" (so I don't want to speak in the guys at Sample Modelling's name) etc... Plus I don't even know if you can get Kontakt without the library... if so then it's even more bloat I probably don't need. What I hate about Kontakt is that it's the "standard" nowadays in which many people release their stuff -- like Giga was a lot of time ago (GigaStudio was also bloatware). |

I enjoy the gift & the sounds, & I might use the long samples, I copied your PM info in a text file & put it in the folder, & I'll PM you if they land in a track someday thanx again, warmer, I wish you (your ears) a prompt recovery ... |

Some tune issues but they add a nice "imperfection" touch to them. Here are the sfz maps: http://stashbox.org/623646/Warmer-Cello.rar Put them in the same folder where the .nkm is. thx marce, very neighbourly of you and thx to warmer for these; and nice wedding dresses too! I was down your way last year for a camping holiday |

MA-Simon wrote: There is no problem with the bloathing thing couse nowadays pc's have 1-2 Terrabyte Workingspace ^.- mine has 2T so... give IT to me :3 I'm of the opinion new hardware should mean better stuff, not wasting them up because we can. With more memory I want to store MORE stuff, and have MORE possibilities, not just replace my software with something that operates about the same, even though I have a better system. An obvious example would be Operating Systems. How much does it take for them to boot up? (I mean after the BIOS loads the bootloader of course, because it wouldn't be fair to count the time before since it's dependent on the motherboard in question).
Funnily, I thought computers are supposed to get FASTER, so that means, if my OS from 2000 booted in 30 secs, nowadays it should boot in 10 or less. Right? On the other hand you get crap like Vista that just WASTES all that goddamn speed and improvements and makes it boot in like 45 seconds. Awesome improvement. (I didn't touch that bloatware piece of shit, one of my friends confessed it to me) My OS should take around 100MB after loaded up. I don't care if I have 4 GB of RAM or 128TB of RAM. I want to use the new memory as being... you know, new. Not waste it because I can. That's backwards And besides it is people like you who think 2TB is "normal" that SSDs are so damn expensive (I wish I could get a 256GB SSD, would solve *all* my needs and be reliable, tough, durable and fast, unlike brute-force "big-raw-size" HDDs) and huge HDDs are considered "the norm". Seems most people prefer brute force rather than using smart ways to improve things. (i.e raw size vs better and smarter use of technology) HDD speeds didn't scale with memory increase either. PS: Please note that I would have NO problem with Kontakt if it wasn't a so-called "standard" in sample library format nowadays -- I ignore bloated shit unless it affects me. And in this case it DOES because it affects the sample library devs' format choice(s). Thank God For Converters And/Or Third Party Sample Readers (like Samplelord, even though I don't need it for now, but just in case, I like that it's being developped). Oh and guess what? Samplelord is half a megabyte in size and is better than Kontakt at handling different file formats (of course, it doesn't use advanced capabilities of formats like Kontakt, but then again, it doesn't CONVERT "alien" formats, it uses them on-the-fly! and YES it HAS a format specifically for it). Amazing what you can put in half a megabyte eh? if I had time I could put even more. Am sure that people with 100 employees have more than enough "time" for this (since there's many more than 1 single person). |

But ok, than in short. I know. But i just not ment "starting all that 2TB at once". I meant "storing" it so i don't be bothered with cd's and dvd speed anymore. 1TB is like 89€ which is cheap. Just look arround. You could also buy a "normal" server which is used in some agencys which is like 4TB+4TB automated Bakup fore something like 350€. I just ment: space is cheap, so why not prepare? You couldn't have just all the stuff one one single pc. But... you know... yes you could. The PC's in my university have 12GB ram etc.etc. which means you don't need to look at this corner any more. I don't care if the system is loading 45sec, and yes the system is f**ked up with vista but i wont die because of it ^.- But i know what you mean. I could kill it everyday. When i come home from work i just weant to PLAY and if my system loads somewhat like 1 minute i could get creazy. (I am already playing my keyboard even if no sound is coming out of my boxes just to DO something ^.-) But you are right... i want a 3D hologram PC with direct hand control :3 PS: i have to say i am used to big Fromats since i am a grapics Designer. Projekts always "burst" up to folders of 1-10 GB just becouse of all that images etc.etc EDIT: Here is a quik audio demo of the cello (not a good one -.-) but i like the vibrato cello very much :3http://www.box.net/shared/3v5d26yixp |

Well I used to make 3D models myself and yes I am used with big meshes (especially when sculpting) but usually I had them in a ramdisk, performance drastically improved (no need to trash the HDD), until I exported normal maps and a lower-poly mesh for render EDIT: just realized sorry for off topic! Had a listen to the cello samples, they are very NICELY recorded, but a bit low in volume, you could have normalized them when they were in 24-bit or 32-bit, but now it's useless. But I don't mean to disrespect your work, they are well recorded! |

I've also sampled my trumpet, again no pro job here just done quick but some useful sounds with a less polished sound then you find normaly but has it's own thing. I'll upload as well if anyone wants, demo found http://www.dressestoimpress.co.uk/trumpettestwav.mp3 |
