Latest News: Behringer Bundles Up with Tracktion 4

okay.. no doubt no one would ever call me an early adopter, but T3 Ultimate Bundle at Musicians Friend for $49 .. well, i had to give in. I have been happily using T1.6 and T2 for years, and never had an issue opening a project in either when created in either, but I just pulled up a project into my newly installed T3.. everything looked fine, I went back to T2 and all my clips are scattered inappropriately, nothing starts on time, and the tempo which should have been 96.25 is now at 120..
I went back into T3 and everything is fine there, so I placed a specific tempo change at 1.01.000 for 96.25 .. saved it, went back into T2 .. still no love.. 120.. what the heck is going on? why the issue with tempo.. and why is it pushing my clips around? i suppose i could go in and make all the clips start at 1.01.000 in T3, but that is going to be a nuisance if i have to do that in ever project. anyone else experience this? |

okay .. called LOUD tech support, and when i mentioned this issue they exclaimed "you have T1, T2 and T3 on the same machine? .. no! no! no! .. you have to pick one and uninstall the others, they do not play well together".. unacceptable!
perhaps i could do without T2.. but i still use T1.6 a LOT! any others have more than one successfully installed on one machine? .. am i being thickheaded for wanting more than one version? |

Hi there-
LOUD are morons, don't listen to them. You cannot mix projects between t1-2/t3, because the tempo architecture (as I understand it) is different in t3 edits. So once you bring an edit into t3 and save it the tempo goes out of whack if you load that edit in t1/t2. SO it's one-way. Sucks I know, but I virtually never use t1 anymore except for writing midi parts by hand, as the editor for t2/t3 is just terrible. If anyone knows a workaround (I asked on this forum years back and no dice), just let us know okay? M@ |

Thanks Metamorphosis, at least i now know i am not alone in this.. i do not know why that makes me feel better, but somehow it does.
i think i cold be very happy with just using T3 if i could find a way to bring the tools in the piano roll over to the side like they are in T1. when they are on top they hide the track above which i am usually needing to reference when editing, and it usually takes me two or three attempts to get to the tool i need because as soon as i move off the track that damned pop up disappears! |

Thanks man, I know how you feel Just right-click the midi clip while in edit mode - all the tools you need appear in a handy drop-down box. |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I found a workaround:
Load the project in t1. Go to the the edit tab, then bottom left there's a button called 'timecode' -> click on it -> turn off 'remap clip positions when tempo is changed'. Then change your tempo back to it's original value. Done! Also noted in t3 buglist. |
