I really tried to organize these samples
in an intelligent way that keeps the
artist in a focused "flow state" instead
of searching around or being forced
to edit.

I personally hate that, so I spent a couple
of months just organizing, naming, and
cutting the samples to the exact perfect
zero point for tightness.

Nathaniel,
I just downloaded the demo and tried some random selections
in GURU. Very nice punch and presence and the samples are
very cleanly done. I would say they are worth what you are
asking for them. Now I just have to see if I have $77 to pick
them up! ;-)
Cheers,
Scott

If I'm the only one who feels this way, then you don't have a problem.

Yeah, I hear it. Like I said, I want to tell the story...

That's why there's demo sounds, screenshots, pictures,
audio tracks, testimonials from real artists, members,
and producers.

I'm primarily an artist, been producing dance music for about
16 years.

Check it out, take it or leave it... cool?

It's there for people who can relate and enjoy the sounds.

LOL, I don't even know what I'd do with
"thousands of plugins"...

probably a whole lot of nothing.

Never met anyone with a retirement account before. I must be moving in the wrong circles! Laughing

Your story didn't really tug at my emotions.

I picked about 10 Sounds out of the DEMO set that I like. They're good. But not so unique to the other thousand drum sample sets that I've sorting out at the moment.

I think you'll get a few odd replies (like mine) because of the way you are presenting your 'product'! It's just another 'product' after all . . . innit?

I placed a post up on Gearslutz to test the system, see people's thoughts, before going "public"

HERE ARE SOME RESPONSES:

"The taste on the selection is remarkable, and it includes an fine array of select machines in a WORKABLE presentation. I also like how succint, and workflow-friendly it is in terms of content and the very basics.

Most libraries are chaotically disorganized, compressed the heck out of them, with no head-room (an important selling point of yours here).

On another topic, I honestly was laughing a lot when reading your uber-hyped story in your website. hahaha It was amusing really. I don't know what people are complaining about here, or playing the big marketeers for. WTF! Just relax! Wink

I have a soft spot for honest effort and true craftmanship. It's in my blood too. Good work, hombre."

"I checked the free ones again for their usability (i am picky right now as i am saving up for important studio upgrades) and finally pulled the trigger. I think these samples will generate their money worth and more in no time.

I also appreciate the 16 bit files as this saves me some time of converting these for my mpc. Unfortunately its in repair for about 2 weeks and i cant wait to throw them on to the pads.

Thanks Nathaniel for the efforts and for making this available."

"Thanks very much! Those are easily some of the best sounding samples I heard in a long time."

First, I don't care about tugging at your emotions.
I'm showing a collection of drum sounds,
not trying to bang you on prom night : )

Second, cool. Enjoy the 10 sounds you like.

Third, no. It's not "just" a product. "Just a
product" is like a kleenex or toothbrush..

I don't know about you, but electronic music
has been my sole passion and life for 16 years.
Drum machines aren't products, they are TOOLS.

I don't clump things together and say, "eh, just
another girl... meh, just another film, just
a pair of shoes"... I look for the unique thing
and emphasize it, especially when it comes to art.

I designed the library to function like a tool.
I have tons of samples I've purchased. Most of the
time they are either poorly edited, clipped, 16bit,
or thrown in a folder with 250 other sounds.
That leaves me to do hours or days of work sorting,
editing, etc, instead of doing what I want, which
is writing.

This library literally took 10 months to create, $29k
of gear, and additional living expenses. The fact
that someone can grab that effort and work for
1/300th of that cost/time is amazing... that's the
beauty of digital technology and distribution.

This is an indy, designer collection for people for
want it. Take it or leave it.

Try layering the sounds only from the demos. That way
you can hear how the Drive and Harmonic Distrortion
from the tubes, tape, and transformers shape
the sound and add depth and air.

peace-

Nathaniel

I have no problem with the enthousiastic website and the demo sounds are great.
This library most evidently is a work of passion, dedication and attention to detail.
I don't see where it's like "another sound library" at all Shrug
It sounds to me like a perfect complement to Goldbaby's libraries.

Thank you for the freebie Nathaniel, you've got yourself a customer Thumbs Up!

Awesome!

It was everything you say...

I even dithered the sounds
to 16 bit for Hardware users
so they wouldn't accidentally
truncate them : )

Glad to have you on board.

thanks,

Nathaniel

I think that is what sold me in the end Wink That shit cracked me up.

Good grief, the people on this board [rolls eyes] - so undeservedly jaded.

For real tho', to me it was obvious that you are an enthusiastic user, and your 'sales pitch' didn't feel at all artificial or 'marketing' driven. I got a real sense that not only did you know what you were doing, you did it with real passion. And the IDM demo sounded fantastic.

Plus GURU kits! and already converted 16-bit samples for my MPC 1K!

So, while I should be saving my dollars for a few bits of hardware kit I want, $77 is a pretty good price point for an impulse buy.

Hey, look, they just finished downloading. Off to transfer them to my my music rig.
