Thanks for the message.
About the lag / cpu usage, that is really down to the time taken to load in the samples. One of the things I would like to investigate is having the sample being streamed, rather than loading into memory. This would decrease the time needed for loading presets. Attack parameter, possibly and modular is interesting though it would be difficult in the current architecture of the plugin. Cheers Jon |

So it is not possible to have from 0-1ms of attack? |

Well it's not directly available at the moment. However what you can do is alter the envelope speed (by 6.25% to 1600%) via the modulation matrix, and so you could do something with that to have much shorter envelope time, by having a faster speed. Maybe something to experiment with.

I wanted to say sorry for constantly posting when I have a problem, and not when Punch is slamming my tracks into awesome shape. I really do appreciate the sound of all the Papen plugs i've use over the years, but Punch has made my drum synthesis so much simpler and quicker generally. Being able to throw in a sample here and there is good too, and there are many good ones in the factory library.
I just think that Punch can feel a bit inflexiable at times, not in sound, but in the routing/module side. It would be great to be able to load in a bank of all snares for example, to use in a live set, if not just to avoid the occasional RAM loading glitch. That said though, Punch doesn't crash on me (touch wood as they say, nothing sus)... and I've played quite a few live gigs with it now. I'm very keen to keep pushing it further in my live sets... Punch has replaced 3 perhaps 4 different VST instruments in my songwriting now, and really helps with my workflow, I just hope it can get even easier! Thanks for coding this stuff guys, all the long hours will be returned to you... one way or another I'm off to demo this BLADE everyone keeps mentioning to me |

That is very nice of you to say sqigls , and Punch is still an evolving system, there are plenty of ideas which we like to put in , more modularity is something we will investiate.
I hope you have fun demoing Blade. Cheers Jon |

How about midi drag and drop, is that still in the works? |

I'm still investigating this, because I need to get code that works on the PC & Mac, in vst, au, aax & rtas versions, and there isn't much out there. But it's still something I'd like to put in.

Have to say that the 'changing presets' spikes sqigls mentioned are a real problem here too. I'm working on my live rig, which basically revolves around two instances of Maschine and using Live almost as a DJ Mixer. The idea is to additionally trigger Punch's Sequencer to add some nice embellishments and add an extra realtime vibe to things (which to me was always one of the most attractive features of Punch) Everything goes great... until one goes to change patches and a severe glitch in the audio stream occurs... which is no good at all in a continuous live mix. I don't mind a slight delay in the patch loading (as Jon said earlier in this thread Punch does have to load quite a few samples) but the audio glitch is a problem. I don't mean to be negative as I love Punch, but I'm hoping there's a solution to the glitching when changing presets issue. This is with the VST on OSX 10.7.3, Live 8.4b3 (32 and 64bit) with CPU usage at about 15% but the problem also occurs in Studio One and Kore. Thanks for listening. Alan |

At the moment we all involved with Predator in Reason, so it won't be anything before that is released. But reasonably soon after that, I hope would starting updating it.
