Mind Control preset save problem

Installed the new update, trying to save a preset. In the video, there is a button on the bottom right called 'settings'. On the Mind Control view that I have, there is a wrench and screwdriver on the bottom right. If I click on the icons, two little floppie icons appear, one for export, and one for import. Is this correct? My main problem is I get an error message when I try to export. It says, 'NKI preset not found'. Where should this blank preset file be? I've tried it seemingly everywhere. Thanks for any help, Milton.
EDIT: Ok, I get the wrench icon/floppy icon. (it's in the manual, stupid!), and I have got the save function to work a couple of times, but for some reason, I still get the 'not found' error message the rest of the time. Any idea of what I might be doing wrong in these instances? Also, after I get this working, where should the finished preset files be saved to? Thanks for your time and help, Milton.

Do you have the preset NKI loaded before pressing "save" or "load"?

You can save the resulting NKI anywhere, just don't overwrite the existing blank preset. For organization, you might just keep all your presets in the same folder as the blank preset.

Thanks for your reply, Greg. Yes, I have the blank loaded before I try to save. Should the different modules (Instr.Bank, M Control, Blank) be in any certain order in the rack? Thanks for your time, I know you are busy.
EDIT: I got it, Greg. Thanks for your help!

Yes, Greg, I did finally get it right. I wasn't placing the blank preset directly under Mind Control in the rack when trying to use the arrow down for a save. Thanks again, can't wait for thr Evolution update!

I think that has to do with the MIDI channel--both the preset as well as Mind Control need to be set to the same MIDI channel for the transfer to work.

Good to know, I didn't think about that. I bet that's what was happening, come to think of it. I haven't had Kontakt very long, and didn't take into consideration that Kontakt assigns the next available midi channel to any inserted space in the rack. I will give that a go and see if that what is going on. Thanks again!

No problem! Sorry I wasn't able to solve the problem faster, I was out of town for the weekend. In the future, hopefully I'll be able to save you from any technology-induced headaches. Smile

Seriously, though, just let me know if you have any questions or anything, and I'd love to help!
