Is there a place where I can find different rythm examples with all rudiments included in MIDI (ie. triplets, paradiddles, change in time signatures in piano roll without changing master time sig, etc.)?

I did have the 26 real rudiments and the 15 others in midi when I had my old roland v set and my last comp setup. I kind of got a little lazy with closed/open roll variations but I may still have them in an older disc or that particular computer somewhere but probably could whip them up for you in an hour or so. I will just have to use a keyboard this time around. Funny I saw this because I just got done with my daily rudiment practice on the kit and thought "why am I not using those rudiments as litl modular blocks for my programmed fills like I used to." SO I will be doing this for myself soon if I don't find the old ones (which I haven't heard in over a year so I may just want to do them again)as they were pretty usable back in the day.

p.s

P.m with your details and I won't promise a date but I will get some done that I will share. Also any particulars you wanted (beside paradiddles, drags and flams which is of course a must)?

p.p.s Also I won't promise closed/open variations for you either. Sorry as things like drag-adiddles rule the roll world. It just depends on what it feels like when I use my controller radium 49 as I've since sold the vkit. Most likely just open style doubles. you will just have to program closed rolls.

Been searching for this for ages. The best I found is what jan posted. I'll be interested to hear what you have, japut_99.

Me too. Tried to use tracktion to lay down a bunch of the 3 based rudiments (flam accents, swisstriplets etc)but as we know midi is not so good there and when I wanted just a litl quantization it was too strong. It just kept sounding funny. It could be the velocity curve on the controller as well. Tried Reaper for a minute but I just dont get reaper as well. So I'm searching for an old cubase le that I have to install and then with the drum editor this should be a breeze. It will be more of a pain to install cubase then actually doing the rudiments.

edit: I thought twice about the cubase thing and will just try to use reaper. I just got swiss army trips done in it and they sound good and weren't that hard. I call it the learning curve. I am only going to do one four beat measure(or three if the rudiment calls for it)of each rudiment and let you guys merge and match how you see fit. Maybe I can even get some out tonight to you guys.

If somebody gets this together, I'll chip in a donation, no doubt. I am so dumb I build most things by hand from scratch.

Jeez its really not that difficult if you got the list of the rudiments in front of you. I would think most competent pianist could handle this because I know I'm terrible with a keyboard. lol I mean you don't move more than one finger on each hand. lulz. got 7 rudiments done earlier tonight because I turned the old computer into a hd internet box and really didn't back too much up. So I didn't find the old ones but am working on new ones as we speak.

Some of the early triplet ones (singlestroke4 and 7)seemingly look off to me in the piano roll but sound right. Oh yeah no multiple bounce rolls except doubles and I'm gonna add triples but not as 16th triplets (its Ok just a little math or use a sampler) Just taking a little smoke break but back to business in a minute..

btw I've been using the audiomidi slate drums and the 5,6,7,stroke rolls sound really cool with the closed roll sample mapped on d#/Eb. they truly "roll" in the american kit.

So I got a few done that sound really good but I want to fix some. And well you know I still have to figure out midi export in reaper..but I thought I would upload this render I made while I was checking out Liqiudsonics Reverberate (the gpu version-so sweet). Most of the rudiments here, obviously some velocities need fixed, butt loads of compression and verb- Slate drums and sorry if you don't have soundclick

its the rudimental file on the Losing Future Days account

The problem with this is that it really needs left hand/right hand samples, and every sample developer that uses them seems to map them differently.

Of course, for a classic snare drum mapping that allows you to do this in great detail it's hard to beat the Real Snare Drum.

No doubt about the left right hand samples. Anyone though can map them how they want when they get the midi. The midi I did has them. lol The one that is bothering me though is the double drag tap. I didn't want to throw them to sixteenth note triplets like everything else that is written in 3,6 etc that I did tonight. so I did them in slow 4/4, mostly because I didn't know how to make a tempo change in reaper, yet.

It so true. My favorite instrument that I own is my snare.

I'm a drummer since oh, 1967 or so. I demand quality here, it isn't worth cutting corners such as your glaring: "Oh yeah no multiple bounce rolls except doubles".

I do not have something which I can apply sticks to. I know what a precision roll sounds like in the real world. I have a zen drum and am just not up to speed on all The Haskell Harr method. I've performed many by hand in compositions, it's dodgy, I'm busy and as I say here, I would throw somebody a tenner if they took the project seriously, which you demonstrably do not.

A snare drum isn't a fvcking piano. "I would think most competent pianist could handle this..." And you would be so wrong. Maybe there are ultra-virtuoso pianists who could kind of fake the effect of an authentic double stroke role but certainly not a tight closed one. Idiot

exactly what you said about closed rolls buddy. Multibounce rolls, huh? You want them written in? Like I said use your sampler if you want a tight closed roll. And most surely a pianist could handle all these rudiments. As a drummer you should know your rudiments are only hand to hand-which equates to finger to finger for pianists-in fact we are not even talking finger(S). And you hit the nail on the head when you said its a keyboard not a snare drum. Which is why you are not getting any "tight" closed rolls. Besides you don't even have the midi so what are you complaining about? It's aunt flo isn't it?

I wouldn't blow up your skill to much and I didn't ask for you tenner. Do your own if you don't like them Mr Buddy Dick. Nor did I ask for you to call anyone an idiot. Nor did I ask for any participation. Nor did I want to partcipate with a dimwit who never read the post that I don't have v-drums any longer and I have to use a keyboard. Back to regularly scheduled programming.
