Hi! Is it possible to route a track to a VSTi on another track, just using another MIDI-channel?

East West Play and Kontakt all have the ability to load multiple patches on the same instance of the VSTi. Also Omnisphere, I think. Makes it a lot easier to work with it.

If not currently possible, consider this an FR.

Yes, it is absolutely possible to load several instances of a VSTi plug-in and route any tracks based on the MIDI channel.



In the Instruments menu you should select "New Instance Of ..." to load a new instance, or just select a loaded instance in the same menu.
Make sure you add the plug-in with "Add With Options" and check "Plug-in handles multiple MIDI channels".

Perfect! Just what I was looking for.

Adding a VSTi with "Add With Options..." causes RapidComposer to hang with "Not responding" indefinitely. This happens after the dll is selected. It happens with all plugins I've tested with (Komplete, Maschine), and it happens every time.

Additional info: It also causes the process to hang so it cannot even be removed in task manager, locking up the ASIO-interface on my machine, forcing a reboot to use audio software.

This is fixed now. We will release an update in 1-2 days.
