Postby bmrzycki; Mon Jan 24, 2011 8:00 am Zebralette patch contest 1 - Voting

>>> Zebralette-01 DOWNLOAD <<<
(please see the Zebralette-01 Submission Thread for more details).

Voting rules:
  • Zebralette 1 has simple rules; submit a preset for Zebralette in any category or style.
  • All votes are appreciated, and however one decides which patches stand out is the right way. A little feedback explaining votes is very welcome as well, just keep it short and to the point.
  • Zebralette doesn't have a button to view preset information. The easiest way to see the info for these patches is to either audition them in Zebra2 and used the 'i'nfo button or click the "Save" button in Zebralette to see the preset notes.
  • The presets have not been normalized and are presented to you as they were submitted. It's up to you, the voters, to decide if a preset appeals to you (clipping, too quiet, or just right).
  • Results will be tabulated one week from the date of this post (1/31/2010, 10:00am UTC -6) when the poll stops running.
  • The preset awareded the most overall points wins. Best of luck to all the entrants!
Patch authors:
Please post your (numbered) first, second, and third place selections from this set in this thread. Please no hinting or saying which preset(s) are yours. Let's keep it anonymous until voting is closed. As a patch author you must vote, and you are not allowed to vote for your patches!

Everyone else:
Anyone is welcome to vote and if you wish to do so, please post your (numbered) first, second, and third place selections from this set in this thread.

Point Value:
Points are awarded by voters in the following manner:
  1. 1st Place -> 3 points
  2. 2nd Place -> 2 points
  3. 3rd Place -> 1 point
Votes by patch authors and everyone else are weighed equally.

Results:
The winning patch author will receive their choice of 1 free u-he NFR (not for resale) software product.

Final Tally:
01. Snowflakes: 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 1 = 22
02. Heaven: 3 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 14

Those who wish to can also express a preference for one of the following themes for the next contest:

1. Zebra - no Osc modules (ie use Comb, XFM, or Noise modules as sound sources)
2. Zebra - FM patches
3. Zebra Bass
4. ACE/Zebra* - "Patch 9 From Outer Space", the retro sound of 50's Scifi
5. Zebrify - design a patch for a given audio file
6. Ace/Zebra* - Create a patch to score with this image.

*For these two options please indicate either ACE or Zebra.

Just write your preference below your patch votes like so:

Code: Select all
1. Patch X
2. Patch Y
3. Patch Z

Theme: "Monkey Tennis"

5. Zebrify  8
6. Image    3

Thanks once again to bmrzycki for running this end of the contest - and with such efficiency too (I notice this thread went up bang on the deadline!).

It's worth repeating that, in order to be eligible for the prize,

patch authors are expected to vote!

And please try not to hint at which patches are your own - it just makes the anonimizing of patches pointless.

Good luck, may the best patch win! ;)

Just tried auditioning them in Zebra (the latest beta), which should work, however -

1. You don't see the patch info saved with Zebralette.
2. For some reason many of the patches behave differently.

Probably best to do the auditioning in Zebralette (click on 'Save' to see any patch info, then 'Cancel' once you've read it).

And the first set of votes are in:

1st Place -> Deamon Breath Bass -> 3 points
2nd Place -> Aqua Palace Pad -> 2 points
3rd Place -> Hyperborea -> 1 point

Great work from all! Thanks to every one involved in making this contest happen.

All,

Please re-download the zip file. A patch was inadvertently left out and I've fixed it.

@abstractcats, if it changes your vote please feel free to update your post.

My apologies for the error.

and here are the second set of votes:

1st Place -> Snowflakes -> 3 points
2nd Place -> Expanded Trajectory -> 2 points
3rd Place -> LEAD Dirtbike Disaster -> 1 points

There are some great patches in this bunch. Good job everyone.

My preference for the next contest is #6 with Zebra. Sounds challenging and fun.

No problem and I do have to adjust my votes as my Dyslexia kicked in and I did them backward, so I'll give the new addition a listen and update soon, thanks.

Edit, oops, they are correct but I'll give the new patch a spin :)
