A cool one for sure, I think you've nailed something here even though I have not much clue about what a real juno sound like. Wink

Congrats on your synth-I used to have a 106 about ten years ago and from what I remember of it you seem to have captured it well.
Quite a nice sounding synth this.I just had a Boards of Canada type drone out of it which sounded great.
Good work.

Thanks for the free synth vsti computerized program to use for me.

Never tried a Juno-anything, or any mainstream gear otherwise.

thanks for positive comments! well, i checked some old samples,
and there's still some way to go, f'sure, but this is a stage 1,
getting it all in one place, sort of thing.

i'll post some samples and links to more samples when i get it
together, to show some differences.

Thank you mztk for your good work on this fine re-creation of a Roland gem.

Lots of audio examples of the original are here:
http://www.synthmania.com/juno-106.htm

What is the purpose of the 'TRANSPOSE' button, which shows the TUNE, OCTAVE and KB PANIC items? Also - what is the purpose of the 'OCTAVE' number?

A bug?
The 'PATCH NUMBER' does not change when I action the next/previous program of my DAW.

Michael.

um yeah, the patch changes by host don't update the GUI
setting. it is mentioned in the info. need to sort that
out.
the transpose takes you 2oct up or down, and the tune gives
you 1/4tone each way. there's a problem with transposing
with a note keyed, it hangs, so there's a 'panic' button.

i'll do some more work on this soon; it is a first working
version, roughcut.

Pretty nice Smile Chorus is good but I thought the sound kind of "bounced" rapidly between the extreme left and right rather than just creating a stereo thickening effect. Maybe it's just because it's late at night and I was using headphones Razz

well will check that out too. 'no headphones were used
in the making of this plugin'... just a pc 2+sub thing
over there on the floor...(not very sophisticated but
roughly alright). thanks for pointing it out.

Hi
It is quite nice, thank you for sharing.
Some feedback :
- I think the chorus still need some improvement, it doesn't really soud like my Juno60's one, and it changes the sound quite a lot ;
- Do you plan to add an arpegiator ? It is a lovely feature from the Juno60 Very Happy

eh beh...yeah it needs a little shaping up. having a little
more time to play with it myself. and yes i thought that a
thing missing on the 106 was the arpeggiator, which would
be nice to restore here.

thank you to all the people who are checking this out.

I checked it out as well, thought I'd give you a little feedback:

To me it's a great sounding synth, captures the Juno-like sounds nicely. I even think your DCO sounds fatter and wider than the Flintlock Juno-106. Also, when you hopefully add an arpeggiator and fix the note hanging bug, please also reduce the keyboard on the GUI to like 61 keys like the real Juno-106. It looks like it's a Juno-106 Grand Piano. Thank you so much, it's pretty good news to see there's a Juno 106 VSTi! The sound is pretty good, although I can't compare with a true synth, since I don't have one (no room in my appartment and too expensive!). I'm happily playing with this new Juno 106 toy as if I had one Smile
