Erm...my only suggestion is to try to find a way to sell it in the US. Sounds like a very interesting instrument...alas...I may not get the opportunity to play it in the near future. |

As a matter of fact a licensing deal is on the table at the moment. Hopefully we should have something signed in the next couple of weeks and then we'll be able to start trading in the US! |

Hi John,
Welcome to KvR and congrats again on the excellent SOS review! (You might want to unlock that thread, so that people can comment and people notice it, BTW. You can always go through and tidy up the thread if you find it gets too cluttered). Hope everything goes well with sorting out licensing. Will be in touch over email soon. Ben |

Getting publicity thru Computer Music magazine, then not selling
in the U.S. is a marketing disaster ! |

There are so, so many possibilites in the stretch and warp that I made these patches but now am thinking I will make PROF (randomizer) presets to make variations on the jillion sounds possible in this area. Hope you enjoy the patches I've made thus far Last edited by runagate on Sat Oct 27, 2007 12:06 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I don't think John ended up being as addicted to kvr as we are, Ben John, remember, too that just because you've got a support forum here doesn't mean you can't make announcements in the Instruments or whatever forum. Most people who don't have many of the company support forum and wouldn't notice them on their customized "most recent topics" list. I've gone for months without realizing there's new company forums here. |

Now that I am quite familiar with SSP 2.0, I would like to offer some suggestions for a future release (3.0, 4.0, etc). With a synth that offers a new synthesis method that actually SOUNDS different, one can't go wrong with expanding the options available for sound manipulation and developing it further. We have a winner here.
1. Definitely add a second oscillator. This alone will expand the number of possible sounds out of Scanned Synth exponentially, particularly if the second oscillator had a few independent sound manipulation options, allowing one to layer different sounds together in a single preset. Perhaps by setting said second oscillator to "off" by default, it wouldn't conflict with the already included presets and also would conserve CPU resourses if a patch only used one osc.? 2. A 3rd envelope and LFO. 3. Ping-Pong Delay, Phaser, Ring Modulator (to be used with possible second oscillator). ---- VST SOUNDBANKS FOR SALE ---> http://xenossoundworks.com Z3ta+ & 2 Zebra Predator Massive Razor Sylenth ACE Blue Ultra Analog Scanned Synth Pro Drumaxx V-Station etc |

User defined scales - microtuning ability (ala Albino, Rhino, etc) using scala files. |

For a different synth/edition: Have a graphical display of the nodes, connections and hammer if possible. Also the ability to change connections and stuff by clicking on this display would be cool too. Make the models save-able and loadable, and you've got yourself another great synth using scanned synthesis. |

Yes, that would be cool. I think that will be one of the things going into Scanned Synth Pro 3. |

Wow! Knoml, that is a great suggestion. Definitely a +1 by me. Hey John... I've got a couple more ideas for V3: 1. Tempo Sync option for the LFOs. This will allow us to make sounds that bob, weave and breathe in perfect timing with the music. Also, Dubstep fans are definitely gonna need this for those distinctive wobble basses where they change the speed of the LFO via MIDI controls but everything stays in sync. 2. Punchier attacks on the envelopes, most notably, the Amplitude envelope. As it stands right now, you can't really get strong percussive sounds out of SSP. That's all for now by me ---- VST SOUNDBANKS FOR SALE ---> http://xenossoundworks.com Z3ta+ & 2 Zebra Predator Massive Razor Sylenth ACE Blue Ultra Analog Scanned Synth Pro Drumaxx V-Station etc |

I would love to see the addition of a special monophonic mode
(that surely has a name which I ignore, please let me know how that's called if you understand what I mean in which the last note played/held is repeated every time another note is played/released, I hope that you know what I mean Scanned Synth is a wonderful musical entity congratulations for it I'm definitely looking forward to any further developement ![]() |
