[edited 20120810: The plugins here were using the now dated QIN v1.0 engine which has some issue with certain hosts. All known issues are fixed in QIN RV 2.0. Please bear this in mind when you test out the plugins here.]
[edited 20121201] The links to the dated QIN v1.0 trial version have been removed, since they can no longer present the adequate user experience, hence no longer fits the original trial purpose. You can download the new ChineeGuZheng Classic freeware to have a taste of what it'd be like using our instruments and the new QIN RV 2.0 engine. Hi there.
I'm presently trying out this demo. Nice sounds. I am confused by the role of the soundbank library. Are the .KAS files loadable onto the instrument using "load"? (because when I try this, it finds nothing in the folder, even though I know, via windows, that all the .KAS files are there). It seems to be looking for .fxp files? I can hear the sound of the instrument okay, but I am wondering if I am missing out on some key functionality in what I am doing here. By the way, have I missed it, or is there a manual available for these instruments? Thanks in advance! |

Hi lightpanther
"Load" and "Save" on the Main page is for loading/saving fxp preset files. Not the soundbank subsets. You load the subsets from the "Layers" page. Subsets are small sets of pre-mapped sample sets, assigned to different expressions. You can combine and arrange them from the "Layers" page. On this page there's a line to the QIN Manual: http://www.chineekong.com/free.htm Or, you may download it directly: http://www.chineekong.com/Docs/QIN_MANUAL_ENG.pdf |

Just one more question: there's a lot of clicking and popping on the audio. It seems specific to these instruments (using FL studio 32 bit). I'm not talking about intermittent white noise, but actual clicking and popping whenever they are played, even well below clip level. I'd sure like to get that sorted out before making the dive to purchase the instruments. |

It's most likely due to that the ASIO latency of Fruity may be set too low. Check the buffer underuns of FL's audio settings. There are a few parameters in FL's audio department that can be tweaked a bit, but you may have to test each to see which one works for you. Just increase the latency should solve the issue though. |
