The main thing is just to set the fretting position to the general area and let EEG do all the work. Because of the new poly string mode, you don't have to worry about running into the polyphony limitations of a real guitar.

That being said, if you need really exact fret/string setting, the best way to get that degree of control is to use the multi-channel MIDI guitar mode.
