new track i'm working on, should i keep going or trash it?

it's still really prelim, no mixing, pad is WAYYYYY too loud at the start and it's mastered(lol) like a 12 years old but i think it has potential, what do you think?

I'd drop the db of the pads a bit in the beginning and add variation to the pads as well because it gets annoying after it repeats. You may want to consider "adding space" as most the main sounds seem stacked on top of one another. With a bit better mixing and mastering, you could have a really solid track.

thanks, the pad was thrown there without tweaking minutes before i bounced and went to hurricane proof my gallery so its pretty loud and basic?

what do you mean by space, there is only 3 sounds(pad, lead, 303-ish) and besides the last 32 bars, they are always alone with the bass, maybe using less "big " sounds will help

i did that at work in my laptop speakers so i didnt even notice all those sounds were so big till now when listening it on real speakers

IMOHO, for 3 hours of work its already nice, but i usually put about 20-40 hours n a standard song, most of it mixing, automating and adding all variations, so i think that yes, i might have a solid track once it's done

thanks for listening and taking time to write a constructive critic :)

I liked that. Can I pick your brains on what you used for the bassline? It sounds damn good.

there is also a sub that playing the same as the bass with just a pure sine

Well from what music I could that came out of the tons of bass, it sounds pretty damn cool with what you got going so far.
Definitely finish what you got...reminds me I am a bit stuck on a song, I'll probably do the same thing as you, ha.

Loved it! Especially with all the stereo effects going on.

Post

thanks, the ony stereo thing is the SL20 on the MKS50(IIRC it plays a pad-ish thing) and the delay, other than that, i had to go mono on every input to fit within the 18 inputs i have available on my traveler (i'll get an MKIII with another ada8000 to get 26 inputs and finally have everything connected without submixing

That all made sense to me
he lied...

right now i have only 18 inputs available, so i had to put some synths in mono, but the mk3 allows for 2 ADAT devices to be connected, boosting the input number to 26 so i can put back some pieces of gear in stereo
