Kairatune Virtual Instrument version 1.1 is now available for download at
http://www.futucraft.com/kairatune/

Kairatune KVR page: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/5187.html

This update improves MIDI support and usability. Most of the features and changes are based on feedback received from users http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=329631 Huge thanks for sharing your views and ideas and for contributing to the improvement of Kairatune!

Changes in brief:

  • MIDI learn function supporting: continuous controls (CC), aftertouch and pitch bend
  • MIDI program change support
  • Velocity sensitivity control
  • Ability to disable the advanced mouse editing feature
  • Smooth FX and drive bypass
  • New master level control independent of preset
  • Absolute time (ms) does no longer track tempo on delay FX
  • Fixed vibra knob malfunction
  • Fixed MIDI event scheduler

Please visit the website for more detailed information.

Version 1.0 received tremendous interest for which i'm truly grateful. There were some issues that should have been fixed already. Thank you for your patience. I hope you will welcome the improvements in version 1.1 and report any problems you may encounter. Please give your feedback either by email to kairatune@futucraft.com, or here as public or as private, which ever way you prefer.

Version 1.1 known issues:

  • FXB bank file fails to load when imported through host on Reaper.

Thank you man...this is one sweet freebie here. I'll check on the changes later when I get to the "good" computer. Have a great day now!

[*]Velocity sensitivity control

Very nice sounding Synth.. the only thing is the velocity curve is too
"hard" or linear... i cant seem to adjust it at a comfortable balance.

it either seems to have no velocity response or i have to bang hard on
my keyboard to hear a difference. all my other plugins don't respond
like this... just a FYI.

[update]

ok i think whats happening is that all keys after the 1st key is pushed and is held down, will sound with the same velocity level. not sure if this is
just how a monophonic synth is supposed to be, if so... no problem.
but it would be nice to have the following key pressed play the new velocity
even while the previous key is pressed... does this make any sense?

Honestly, i don't have any idea of how it's supposed to be. My way it simply works, although we lose some expressiveness. Changing the amplitude in the middle of a legato can be a bit problematic. For one thing the amplitude change cannot be instantaneous, because that would sound like a crack or pop. On the other end, if the amplitude slope is slower than the pitch slope, the result may sound awkward because for example playing the next note one octave higher with significantly less velocity makes the higher note sound loud for a short period before the amplitude adjustment kicks in. Of course a sufficiently skilled keyboard wizard would have no problem with this but... Smile

I can think of two ways to overcome these problems. Perhaps the amplitude slope should be so slow that it would give us some expression but would still avoid the above problems. On the other hand we could force the pitch slope to play along with the amplitude or maybe even delay the pitch change a bit. But as i said, i really don't know, i'm just thinking out loud because it's a very interesting question you asked there.

Hey, that's wonderful, nice bank, great sounds! I like many of the presets very much. You have many short kind of percussive sounds. Those are always very useful.

How would you feel about uploading the bank to the KVR banks & patches: http://www.kvraudio.com/banks.php?s=list&what=5187 It would be much easier for others to find it there, as this thread will eventually get buried.

Thanks Alv Faria!

I'm planning to launch a blog dedicated to offer .FXB files. But, I can upload this bank to KVR too. No problem.
And, if you want, you can share this bank on the Kairatune's oficial website too!

And thank you for having tested my presets! I'm glad you liked it! Very Happy
