What plugins are best for hardstyle? I want to make hardstyle like Headhunterz, Brennan Heart and Wildstylez.

What plugins are the best for kick in hardstyle?

What plugins are the best for making nice hardstyle sounds?

What plugins are the best for making hardstyle pads?

Where can I read about hardstyle build-up and hardstyle effects?

How do I also get a so emotional beat in hardstyle as possible?

Try EKS-Pro from Synapse Audio

I assume you mean the leads ? Most VA's will do a good job, but i'd advise the following.

Alchemy from Camel Audio

DUNE from Synapse Audio

Sylenth from Lennar Digital

Nexus2 from ReFX

Sawer from Image Line

Pretty much the same as the ones I posted above, but add Absynth from NI too that list.

I tried to do a kick with the EKS-thing but it sounded like a jumpstyle kick, what I want is effects to the kick like camelphat.

Thanks for answering my question Smile

Does he mean like the repetitive electronic rock that always has distorted kick drums? If so, get a distortion plugin.

Jumpstyle is the spoiled sibling to hardstyle, like happy hardcore is the spoiled sibling to hardcore. I pretty much despise both jumpstyle and happy hardcore.

For kicks I use Microtonic. I use Guitar Rig and CamelPhat3 for distortions.

Leads and pads: I use ZynAddSubFx, Nexus, Omnisphere, and other plugins like these.

For percussion I use any drum plugin that lets me customize the sounds, apply effects and really get the sound the way I want it to be. BFD Eco is such a plugin. I also use

So what is actually the difference between the hardstyle kick and the jumpstyle kick ?

I don't hear anything significant tbh.

i guess the intended difference is the distortion, but it seems both kinds, distorted and non, can be used in both styles.

Jumpstyle is more like a distorted TR808 kick, where as hardstyle has much more work laid down in the kick to make it harder. To sound more organic so to say. The hardstyle kick has a more "fist in your face" approach. You have first of all the basic kick that forms the bottom, and then you have a "tock" which pretty much is a hp / bp filtered short distorted noise to make the kick harder. Then we have ofcourse the nustyle kick that is somewhat in between, and used a lot to play the roll of an electric bass to back the melody. I hope I make sense.

Excuse my OT - How come this music hasn't evolved very much? We were dancing to tracks like this at Trade in '94. The happy hardcore scene was even harder and faster then. The kicks are maybe a little bit harder now 18 years on. I expect more from todays young'uns.

18 years before this music was punk. Quite a lot changed between '78-'94 and not very much between '94-2011 it seems. Sad I wonder why that is? When your dad is into the same music as you what's left to rebel against? Shit!

Well, maybe not all dads are complete assholes? My son thinks that it's cool that I like the music he's listening to. HiHi
