Yep. Gonna have to be real careful and watch how this thing performs when it first comes out. Its made for gamers and will generate a lot of heat while pushing the GPUs. Not planning to over-clock. I'm just hoping that since I won't be gaming with this thing that the heat levels will be kept at an acceptable level. I'll probably start researching and see if I can find a good notebook cooler plate.
Been checking online with people complaining about heat problems, but its usually with older systems & various problems such as dust and lint in heat-sinks. I'll report back on heat issues if I get this thing. -Club Ho Last edited by ClubHo on Sat Apr 28, 2012 12:09 pm; edited 1 time in total |

i've been doing music stuff mostly on my laptop for the past 5 years. finally i'm fed up with it. imma buy me a proper desktop with proper performance, proper amount of RAM and proper (i.e. HUGE) screen. wife is a graphic designer so we kinda need that anyway, she's tired of working on laptop too... ---- From Russia with love |

I have an hot rodded i7 laptop which is OK,but you really need a powerful and well designed DAW to make things happen in a professional situation...
The laptop is fine for smaller tasks and for running soft synths live... But the grunt you get from a well designed DAW with a good PS,a decent video card with dual monitors, lots of RAM and fast HDs is the real solution... I prefer to eat in,so the music laptop is really only used when I'm eating out |
