Hi there. I just bought the wonderfully Steamworx-Library. My Alchemy is updated to the latest and i think i did everything right when i istalled the Steamworx library. (I did it twice.) Though, with quite some Presets i get a "Cannot find file"-window. I then skip the thingie and can still hear sounds. But i guess it couldn't find ALL the samples for the chosen preset. I am not too experienced with Alchemy, so ... Any advice would be appreciated. putte |

Hi putte,
Did you also download the Camel Sounds file containing the samples? There are 2 x files for each sound library: one containing the presets, and one containing the samples. Both are linked on the product downloads page of your account. The samples file for Steamworx is about 144 MB. The Presets file is quite small (less than 1 MB). Assuming you did download the Samples file check the size, and double-click to install. That might fix the problem. If this is still a problem, it would be useful to know you're using the full version of Alchemy or Alchemy Player? And if you did download the samples, let us know 2 or 3 preset names that are causing the error and also 2 or 3 missing files names so that we can identify the correct file to download. Thanks. Peace, Andy. |

Andy, thanks a lot for jumping in. I did install both: presets and the samples. Here are some examples: Tin Piano. Missing: Dulcitone-f-A2.wav. Vocal Moods. Missing: Choir-Female-Mm-ff1-G#2.wav and Choir-Male-Mm-ff1-F2.wav Wind And Wire. Missing: dulumodosfeild-D3.wav Cheers, putte |

Thanks for that. I checked your support account (assuming it's the right one, location looks good!) and it would appear you have not downloaded the Factory content for Alchemy.
The missing samples are found in both of the Factory files, so you need to grab Alchemy Samples #1 and #2 from the downloads page. Hover the mouse over #1 and #2 and you'll see these labels: Alchemy Factory Samples v1.06 (Part 1) Alchemy Factory Samples v1.06 (Part 2) These are quite large files at around 1.3 GB each but will contain all of the files required for Steamworx to load correctly. Peace, Andy. |

That's top support, dear Andy. I'm off downloading these files right now.
By the way, not being a big Synth-fan i have to say that Alchemy is a superb monster having a very rich sound. Thanks for that, and say hello to Ben from me. putte |

It's all working now and i am happy about my purchase. Thanks again for the help! While I'm at it: Why isn't it possible to record the movement of the remix-pads in Logic, when i set the channel to "touch"? (Hallo Oceanview. Alles beste für deinen Umzug! |

Great, and no worries. Nice to know you enjoy Alchemy even if it is a "synth" Quote: Why isn't it possible to record the movement of the remix-pads in Logic, when i set the channel to "touch"?
It's working OK here, but maybe there is some issue with a specific method. Are you using a mouse, or external MIDI controller? Is the GUI open or closed? Peace, Andy. |

So it is possible?
The way i tried: set channel to 'touch', press play, move the remix-pads. All this using a mouse with the GUI open. Cheers, Andy. |

Yes that is working for me in Logic 9.
There is a bug in Logic (I know you love 'em!!!) that may cause one of the automation lanes to be overwritten when the transport is restarted immediately after stop in touch mode. This is known to Apple and will no doubt be fixed along with all the others in Logic XX. The workaround is to set the mode back to "read" after recording. What you could try is the Reset & Rescan instructions on this page of our FAQ: http://bit.ly/QZ1XXh Ignore the title of the page, and just follow the Audio Unit Manager instructions in the lower half of the page for whatever version of Logic you are using (32 or 64 bit). Peace, Andy. *edit - added workaround for bug. |
