I'm just happy that someone who's 15 is into Genesis. There's hope for the future yet. If you can get your parents to fork out some cash for Kontakt there's more options there for great ARP sounds, including some nice Tony Banks-inspired ARP Quadra sounds: http://www.synthmagic.co.uk/quadra.htm |

Very much true, this. There is a rather good Powered by Kontakt collection of old synths, ARP included, available from NI for a reasonable price http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/pow ered-by-kontakt/retro-machines-mk2/ {Correction} That's ARP Quadra though, not Pro-Soloist And I think you might want to look unto ElektroStudio plugins (free as in beer). No ARP stuff emulated there, but still the machines Tony Banks surely used http://www.elektrostudio.ovh.org/index2.php |

Oh, and no nu-Progger would be complete without a Mellotron set - GForce's M-Tron Pro would be the obvious choice. |

Or the free Elektrostudio Tapeotronic. Three most important melly sounds in there. And you can crossfade between them |

That's good to hear....honesty is the best policy in all walks of life....... As for a free string machine try S3 by Krakli......... "For all lovers of the 70s and 80s String machines comes S3. Designed the to compliment StringZ2, S3 is unashamedly synthetic, with loads of modulation and movement in the sound. S3 comes equipped with FX for Phaze, Ensemble, Echo and EQ. S3 Now comes equipped with a full bank of 64 presets. Many thanks to Himalaya, ArtVera and Rosllow for these." http://www.krakli.com/krakli-free-synths/ ---- ---- None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free. I was actually wondering what happened to the Pro Solo VST, myself. I had been using the demo for about a year and had finally gotten some extra cash to buy the full version, but when I went to buy it, AM had disappeared off the face of the internet. I guess that's what happens when you wait so long. ---- The only thing we shouldn't know is what we can't do. |

Had to rebuild a comp.
Just tried to find it myself ... no luck so far. I purchased it from them a while back and have the .dll, but if memory serves me correctly, you would download the demo and drop in the paid dll for license and upgrade as I have a v2 .dll in an email from them. If anyone knows where to get the demo, greatly appreciated. Emailed AM Tech with no bounce in 10 minutes yet soooo Hopefully I can get a response. If anyone has the demo or a link that works, they all point to deadends or the prosolovst site, greatly appreciated. |

I've got the demo .dll, buuuut I'm pretty sure we're NOT supposed to be sharing shit like that on this site. ---- The only thing we shouldn't know is what we can't do. |

Not talking about sharing on the site I'm just about to start the loading of another computer with a DAW and all, and am pretty sure the dll will run in it. What I'm trying to find is the original vst demo that you put your licensed dll into. I've been away from it all for a while and switched to win7 so both computers have nothing yet, but I don't think I can run the dll as a free standing vst can I? If my memory serves me correctly, the dll can do into the vst plugin folder but I would need the demo for a freefloating vst. I always liked it cause when bored, you can just wipe out some genesis leads for fun on the fly. Still no bounce from AM's email so that is a good sign. I'm hoping they can shoot me the demo. |

Which of those did banks use? Ps to everyone elses suggestions for mellotron sounds i already have a vsti for it (king crimson and yes fan too) Banks didn't use any of those. Synthmagic do a superb Quadra (excellent and inexpensive - already mentioned in this thread): http://www.synthmagic.co.uk/quadra.htm Hollow Sun do a nice Prog Pack (not free, but excellent value) with very nice Tony Banks stuff: http://www.hollowsun.com/HS2/products/progpack/index.htm Other VST's of Prophet 5/10, ARP2600, FM7 (DX7), Wavestation, Emulator II are out there but aren't free. Excellent Taurus Bass Pedals free VST link here (although it was actually Genesis' guitarists who used them) http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Plugins/ Taurus.shtml Good luck |
