Hello all, well, I eventually want to own the new 64bit Sonnox Limiter but for now, could anyone recommend a high quality free VST limiter, or one up to around £30 - £40 maybe, or at least under £100? I want a decent one for my Trance productions.
Just read the review on here of AOM's Invisible Limiter, sounds good, not sure if anyone has used this one? Cheers. ---- http://soundcloud.com/origin-1 J.S.Bach.(1685 - 1750). The greatest achievement in the history of music! |

I'm selling DDMF NoLimits which has served me well up to now (I've now replaced it with a more expensive one) and is bargain-priced $15: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=341480 *end of spam alert* Before I used NoLimits, I found W1 to be a very usable free one: http://www.yohng.com/software/w1limit.html Good luck! |

Funny you should ask, since someone just posted a 10/10 review for this 10 Euro limiter:

Thanks, the DDMF plug looks great, like the gui !!! I'll have a closer look at this later today. Are there any demo tracks it has been used on for listening purposes? ---- http://soundcloud.com/origin-1 J.S.Bach.(1685 - 1750). The greatest achievement in the history of music! |

I have the old free version somewhere of AOM limiter, lots of headroom maximized and it does seem transparent, I demoed the current one before, seemed about the same. You might be able to download the free one somewhere?
Also TLS Maximizer & Toneboosters Barricade are great+the most headroom of any I've tried. |

That W1 limiter is cool indeed! BTW it's intended to be a Waves L1 clone (haven't used the L1 so I can't compare). Sometimes I like to use W1 for vocal limiting after some LA style compression. Don't know how it goes on the mix bus for trance though, haven't tried it in such a situation yet. Why not give it a shot? |

for free limiter, wait for what bootsy's preparing http://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/2012/02/03/introducing-t hrillseekerla/ +1 for Elephant: it's one of the best limiters out there. Very transparent with lots of tweaking options. ThrillseekerLA is going to be an LA-2A type of comp/leveler if I get it right which is not really a brickwall limiter. Though I'm so eager to try it out! |
