So this is what I'm finding useful:

Caustic 2, the best by far!

NodeBeat ~ unconventional rhythm machine with cool scales and touch melody

Chordbot and EasyBand ~ little arrangement apps

Chord! ~ guitar chords and scales

KeChord ~ Piano chords and scales

Perfect Ear ~ ear training

JT4 ~ 4 track, can import from other apps.

Piano Master ~ fiun music game, practice classic songs.

Tampura Drone ~ Indian drone

Great list. I would add G-Stomper. It is laid out like an Electribe esx and it is pretty deep, although not as slick as Caustic.
I haven't tried NodeBeat. I will check it out.

Add TapeMachine Recorder by Samalyse. Decent recorder and sample editor you can use to record and edit sounds to put into other music apps like Caustic.

Hi,

I am partial to Looper https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpeppe r.Looper

and my apks http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.archive.org/details/A aronCavanaugh-AndroidAppsFixed&usg=AFQjCNGPwvm-Bd0D0Ksl_6ZRp IaTDYFBJA

I am running Android 2.2 so some of the high powered apps like Caustic (at least the new version) and Sunvox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nightradio.sun vox don't work. Also I am hesitant to try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.milkytrack er.sdl as comments say it's hard to use on a small screen )mine is a 3.5 inch.

Also, Nanoloop https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nanoloop and J4T https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaytronix. multitracker

Thanks. God Bless.

Aaron.

Topicstarter: "finding usefull" or "best app" is not the same, so which is it?

You also forgot: Reactable, Plasma Sound, Supreme MPA.

Hi,

Although these are not specifically music making programs. RingDroid allows you to trim audio and save back to the file system. Also the program allows you to record audio and save back to the filesystem https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ringdroid . All without ads.

You'll need a file explorer to find and manage your audio files (deleting, finding etc.) and ES File Explorer is one of the best and allows you to side load APK's as well https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.a ndroid.pop

Thanks. God Bless.

So far I have found the following:

Chorbot (as mentioned above)
gStrings (tuner)
Mobile metronome (metronome with some advanced functions + tap tempo)

I tried Caustic but what it does, I prefer doing on computer so not my cup of tea really.

I would love to find a basic notation program. A grand staff, ability to enter chords and export to midi would suffice.

Maybe. It says it is incompatible with my LG Optimus 2.2 phone.

Also this DJPad MP3 DJ looks promising https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.burnsmod.d jpad

Thanks. God Bless.

As mentioned above - Audio Evolution is the REAL DEAL - a true DAW for your Android devices.

Zequence is also good, but VERY small and hard to see, even on a tablet.
