I'v tested and tested again, but scanned synth 2 does not respond to program change messages in my ableton 8.
When i changed for another vst synth it did work.
I think i read that the synth responds to prog. chng. messages right on this fine forum.

Or am i missing something?

Hi,

Yes it should work, but after testing on Windows it does look like you've found a bug. Using program change causes the first preset to load regardless of the program change number. I'll mention this to John so that he knows to fix it in the next update, or possibly SSP3.
