Could be. I'm not able to do the research just now, but do think it would be best to ask NI directly. Like nuking the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure. |

Difficult issue, because to recorf/take/extract the wavetables of another synth is illegal except you have the permission of the developer or the license etc.
Usually it's easy to "extract" them, just record them on the right note, so that you have directly a cycle length of 1024 samples. But on massive the wavetables are the real wavetables, where a wavetable/waveform didn't include just 1 waveform, instead of this a hole bank like wavetables usually are, a farm of several waveforms which can be blend other/moved etc. For example saw/squ2 waveform on massive, includes also more as just 1 waveform. Just as suggestion, better create your own waveforms through a graphical editor or through sounddesign and record them, and than you can be sure it's your waveform and not the recorded waveform of another which could bring some legal issues up |

Well no argument with removing the link. Who ratted though? I guess I am suprised at the interpretation of the law. In my mind, it is only what I might intend to do with the results that are a legal gray area. e.g. Use them in another synth/Distribute them/Sell them/etc. That changes everything. i.e. If I intend to do any of that, then the act of extracting them is then illegal. Its a part of a conspiracy to defraud etc at that point. Cyforce wrote: permission of the developer or the license etc. I do have a license, if thats what you mean. I would certainly feel a little dirtier if I were ripping stuff out of a demo that I intended to let time out so I could run away with the wavs... I wouldnt be posting that here. Is there really a specific law that prohibits just the act of 'examining' files one has a right to use? I wonder because this isnt exactly 'hacking'. Its just software use. Even if it were hacking, if it stays ITB and no profit is made, no business infringed on, and no conspiracies started- If the results and the info are never shared beyond the licensee, what is the law being broken? Anyway, thanks for just taking the link Meff. Appreciated. Cyforce wrote: instead of this a hole bank like wavetables usually are, a farm of several waveforms which can be blend other/moved etc.
For example saw/squ2 waveform on massive, includes also more as just 1 waveform. Yes they are weird. The ones that include two wavforms have what look like regions in them. So somehow Massive can see each slice as an individual? I dont really get it. I mean, those arent actually single cycle wavs right? The only thing I can figure right now is that I need to break those up into invividual wavs from each region that the various wav2h2p apps can then map individually to the 16 slots in an h2p. Which, sounds not fun considering how many there are and that there are no batch h2p creators. |

The Wavetables in Massive are from Galbanum. You can buy it. |

Well, sorta.

This is the second version of the library. Their product page is confusing. I am fairly sure I have a large amount of their wavs. So, figuring whats what, and what NI did with em is maybe a route for me to take. Hmm. Maybe, digging around in the .ens version would yield clues that Google and the .dll do not. edit: A pretty interesting link for anyone.. interested. http://www.galbanum.com/products/architecturewaveforms2010/W aveform_Veiwer/ |
