In MY opinion... nobody should ever decide if to test a FX/Instrument based on just the example tracks. Tastes differ so of course there's differences to what the developer likes to show and what the listener likes. I thought that was common sense. No way it's that bad under the worst speculations, The demo has only 1 sound bank. The full version comes with 10 banks with one of them made by rob lee. I can hear allot of sounds that I never heard with Razor, although I like Razor. The new thing that I don't think I saw before, is the ability to record the XY movement. This gives allot of movement to the sounds and is just what I want for evolving pads. My only complain so far is that there are only 2 effects sections although there are 27 different effects types. Well, that's your opinion... man. hi, Rob's demo tracks are always really really bad which is quite sad. Since day one, whether it comes to preset demos, expansion bank demos, music demos, etc.... It put me off too but i remember how much i loved rob's albino presets so took a plunge on blue first, and now to this day i own all rp synths...(except blade) the best thing is to download a demo, just do it, even though the audio examples are off putting. Blade sounds crisp and fresh, as evidence by the rob lee bank sound demos above. I thought that was brilliant. What did you think of that one? Anyway i know he is only hurting himself in the long run as it's obvious some people are really put off by the demo tracks so I hope Rob and Jon do something about it. I can tell you this, the synths are all reasonable priced, come with greta presets across the board, and great support and stability... ---- Please call me Theo. |

I'm not on FB unfortunately. If anyone has a good path of communication and thinks he should know about it then please contact him on my behalf. In the meantime I quickly chucked some different knobs on there, again they're not perfect but I don't have a lot of time for tweakage....

I'll just leave this here......
As per usual drag to new window or right click 'view image' for full size. It's only rough and the knobs aren't great, the small ones need a different design but I thought I'd share. I just tried to tidy things up a little. Thoughts? Not bad, not bad at all!! |

Interesting that this thread turned into a discussion of the demo sounds and songs and not what the synths can and can't do, and how it really performs. May I ask what's most important to you? I find you guys a bit confusing, and maybe a bit lazy... I dunno. Ok, you're probably hating me for me saying that, but I can't really understand your point of view in the long run. What if Blade turns up to be something you like when you do try it out? If so, wasn't it worth it? You can only loose some time, and in the same amount of time you're spending on posting here you could demo it instead. So what do you REALLY think about the synth, not the GUI, and not the demo songs? |

Thanks for reading my mind. I really wanted to say that but couldn't put in words. |

Now, THAT'S a really good point. |

I can't believe I hear these bullocks from the long time KVR user. Are you RP hater or what? Tell me you favourite synth and I will name it a peace of crap. Will you be happy then? Do you know what is like to CODE such synth? next time always put in the end "IMO". Don't spend youR time on reviews without actual demoing. This thread reminds me of this guy:
I like Rob Lee's demo and scoobz' skin looks great - definitely better than the original IMO. |

Thanks mate, well IMO you just need to spend time with the synth, i had lots of fun doing the sounds for this one espescially the XY feature. I only had 5 days to get the 64 sounds i had programmed for Blade so i had to learn fast but i liked the results i got with it. PS @scoobz That skin is the tops i would love to have my copy looking like that for sure. You should send that to Rob himself and do some sort of deal hehe it's really good.. He's always on Facebook anyways Rob |
