We still haven't figured out who to fire to afford one. Dumble amps have such a difference from amp to amp and how they react to each player it probably isn't in the cards. A kvr poll for one To further recoup investment, have the Guitar Rig team autograph the amp and auction it off for charity. The one who bids the most credits, wins. |

My friend showed me these clips one night and I could not stop laughing. He really starts jamming in part 4! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76nU5Ghq5Wo By the way, Henry Kaiser is the grandson of wealthy industrialist Henry J. Kaiser. Which explains how he can afford to buy several Dumbles, and then bring Alexander Dumble in to play one. We may need to do an AmpliTube Henry Kaiser Edition. |

"Free improvisation" That's what they call it.

Each DumbBell Overprice Special download is unique, custom-made to order and containing the highest quality of hand-coded DSP, compiled with care on vintage computers found only in IK's master workshop in Modena, Italy. No two user experiences are alike, and the amp will be available in a variety of intricately modeled real virtual faux suede skins.

As a joke it's not so funny.... but it's an excellent marketing suicide for IK.
Well done. Seriously, IK should have created a "Dumble style amp" 5 years ago. After all "only half of my guitar heros" play one. You don't have to purchase a real Dumble, a Two-Rock Overdrive would do just fine. |

Marketing suicide? If THIS wasn't, I think a little lighthearted fun is really just that... |

You don't have to purchase a real Dumble, a Two-Rock Overdrive would do just fine. Andrew, there isn't that much demand for a Dumble amp, actually. Even less for Two-Rock. I understand the school you are coming from here, but really, most people's guitar heroes play Marshalls, Fenders, and Mesa Boogies. Dumble amps are quite niche. Not offering a model of one doesn't equate to marketing suicide. People aren't going to stop buying Fender and Orange models because there is no Dumble in the Custom Shop. Besides, how many people are really going to try a Dumble model in the Custom Shop and then go out and buy one? I know of several who have done so with Jet City. This is a big part of what the Custom Shop is about. I just don't see esoteric boutique amps fitting into that scheme. But, if you provide IK with a Dumble, we will model it and add it to the IK backline. |

Try hanging at the TGP forum.... 95,000 members... sorry, that was 95,000 guitar players.... and see what they like. I must warn you though there is already a huge number of competitors that do the Dumble thing. (S-Gear, AXE-FX, ETHOS, Zenkudo, ZenDrive, Jetter Red and of course the Dumble clones Bludotone BludoDrive, Bruno Super100, Carol-Ann OD-2,Ceriatone - OverTone Special, Fuchs Overdrive Supreme, Glaswerks Super OverDrive II ... and a number of Two-Rock models like the Custom Reverb Signature) |

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Dumbles. But modeling officially certified Fender, Ampeg, and Orange amps is what puts you on the map. So does working with guitar legends like Authentic Hendrix and █████ (...more on this next month.) Cloning obscure amps only leads to... even more obscurity. trimph1 wrote: OK...what is so special about the Dumble amplifiers that you are saying he must model this?
Black epoxy and exclusivity. |
